A warm welcome awaits you at La Serena. Nothing is too much trouble for the kind and generous hosts Steph and Derek. The bedrooms are beautiful with nice attention to detail, from the tea and coffee making facility (rare in Italy) to the bathroom soaps and shampoo's. The guest house is set in a peaceful location in the Umbrian countryside...

My wife and I spent a week at La Serena, we expected Umbria to be very hot and very busy. It wasn't. The temperatures were great and the towns and villages were never crowded. Late July is a good time to go! Stephanie and Derek are great hosts, they treat you as part of the family. No sooner had we...

We chose La Sarena for our daughter's wedding blessing because it had excellent reviews, a small chapel within walking distance, good food etc. Nothing could have prepared us for the wonderful few days that Steph and Derek prepared for us. From the wonderful welcome, to the extremely comfortable rooms and fabulous food (still talking about the steak!), it surpassed all...

This was our second visit to La Serena and when we were there last year we mentioned that our son and his fiance were getting married and wanted a quiet ceremony for a small family group. Steph and Derek said they would be honoured if we would consider using La Serena. We have just returned from the wedding and everything...

We had a fabulous stay at La Serena. Steph and Derek were the hosts with the most. Their hospitality is second to none. Their home is lovely and situated in a beautiful area and central for visiting beautiful places from hamlets to cities. Derek's cooking is great and the breakfasts set you up for the day, They really cannot do...

If you want to see the real Italy then Umbria is the place. The locals are so friendly and love visitors. Steph and Derek made it easy for us to see all we wanted to see and more, to meet local people and to enjoy some wonderful food and local wine. Derek created a wonderful breakfast every morning served on...

My husband and I stayed at La Serena for 5 nights in May of 2008. It was a good base to visit Perugia, and many small towns such as Deruta. The breakfasts were lovely and we had dinner there twice, cooked by Derek, who is personable and a very good cook. It's a quiet area, good for walking, napping, reading....

We set Derek and Steph a real challenge - 11 of us to accommodate for a week to celebrate a significant birthday. La Serena fitted the bill perfectly - comfortable bedrooms and ensuites for all, including the downstairs accessible suite which was perfect for the two children in wheelchairs and their mum. The swimming pool was a focal point each...

Three of us travelled to Perugia for our first holiday in Umbria. From the moment we arrived Steph and Derek made us totally welcome and at home in their beautiful guest house. The rooms are spacious and well furnished, each one themed to a different flower colour. Breakfast is substantial, with Derek adding a surprise each day - some home-baked...

We had a fantastic week with superb service and hospitality. Our eight year old granddaughter was made very welcome and found plenty to keep her occupied at La Serena. Our room was perfect and we had a lovely view, especially the sunrise. We didn't need for anything during the week. The location was perfect for finding the real Italy with...
