We had originally planned to spend just three nights at the hotel during the off-season, but it was so peaceful and pleasant that we decided to stay an additional two nights. The rooms were updated and clean and large enough for our family of four. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone and we were never hungry when we left the dining room. Dinners were usually spent elsewhere, but there is a small restaurant that made decent food for people who wanted to stick around the hotel in the evenings. The best part of this hotel is that they cater to kids. There is a fenced-in playground outside for the warm and dry weather, but also an indoor room (or two?) with activities for kids on the cold and rainy days. The staff was welcoming, cordial, pleasant and very friendly. They made us feel at home and wanted to make sure we had a great stay. The location is in a quaint little Austrian village, which we loved. There were some rainy days where we sat on the balcony and watched the dark clouds roll in; we'd sit and drink coffee in the morning and stare at the Alps and drink wine in the evening and watch the sun set. It was so relaxing and wonderful that, as I said, we decided to skip our next destination and stay for an additional two days there at Gasthof Adler. There's much less to do in this area during the summer, but visitors are still able to take a steam train, travel up to the mountaintops via ski lift, hike, wander, swim, visit the cheese factory, etc. It's good to have a car in order to get to these places.

The building is in a renovation proces. So things look quite new and other things are not finished yet. The kegelbahn was unfortunately broken. Employees were very friendly and helpfull and also speak Dutch which makes things easier. The room was quite nice, the bathroom also very nice with floor heating and a great shower and a nice wide balcony with a great view. Different pistes takes you a 15-20min drive so that's ok. The disadvantages are that it's more like a family area so there isn't much to do in the evening, the apres-ski is at a very low level. And we had a family room with a between door which is actually two separate rooms with a door in between. The door in between makes you can hear everything from the room next to you. Which was not so comfortable. Overall the hotel was ok.

Our hosts Fank and Dagmar were wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. Staff were helpful, the rooms were clean and well maintained. Not being Austrian and wanting to try the local food, we were guided. And boy was it tasty.... Hope to drop by on our next trip through Austria next year, if not sooner.

Gasthof Adler is great! We arrived their and got a warm welcome. We stayed in a new renovated room with a nice view to the mountains. The hotel was very cozy! The surrounding offers a lot of possibilities and the family who runs the hotel, gave us a lot of useful tips. I hope we can go back somewhen, somehow!
