The Moxy London Stratford garners compliments for its cleanliness and strategic location near public transport and shopping, making it a hit among travelers. While the hotel's modern amenities and funky atmosphere are appreciated, guests have had mixed experiences with the service, ranging from friendly to unprofessional. Room size and noise have caused some concern, yet the beds are celebrated for comfort. Opinions on value vary, as some find it reasonable despite occasional room quality and service issues.

A real head scratcher!!! Lots to love and hate in equal measure
First impressions matter and my first impression of them was really poor. That evening my family had checked in whilst I went to park the car. I walked into the hotel lobby later and the door man looked at me and gruffly asked ‘Are you staying in his hotel?! There was no greeting, no hello, no welcome – just some bouncer/door man guy giving me attitude at the door. I know customer service is not what it used to be but really has it fallen this far. The second impression wasn’t much better as the reception area doubles as a bar and reception desk. So I had to wait 5 to 10 mins to be attended to whilst they attended to the bar customers. For such a busy and large hotel, pls get dedicated reception staff!! The ground floor doubles as a drinks lounge or night club in the evening. Admittedly this would be a nice place for a couple’s weekend getaway which is a plus to the hotel.
So I put aside my first impressions and took a look around my room. The Moxy Strafford strikes me as a cool hotel which is perfect for folks on short breaks to London. We stayed in the larger family room where the sofa was rolled out into a double bed for my 2 kids. It’s a stylish yet austere room. No cupboards, No fridges etc However what is available is stylishly done e.g. décor, lights, tv. My pet peeves with the room were 1) Carpets looking a bit dull and grimy and it could be with a proper steam wash 2) The TV works on wifi only – which was a pain cause it could get a bit iffy sometimes – it would not give a channel for the 1st morning and 3) the WC/toilet bun is really set high up and in front of a large mirror. Therefore, its not only awkward for your kids to use without assistance but you also get a front seat view to yourself doing a crap – which is not a pleasant sight before breakfast 😉
The breakfast buffet spread is not bad for £12. (free for kids which is great) However hot protein options are limited to just baked beans and an egg omelette. Other than that, their breakfast buffet spread is generous with lots of choices and with good brands. Annoying though they ran out of omelettes on the 2nd day
The key questions at the end of my review are 1) would I recommend and 2) would I come back? Well it depends – if a someone wants a no frills weekend city break then most def but would I personally come back – its would have to be a great discount or much cheaper than other hotel options for me to return.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in December 2019. Our overall impression of the hotel is that it's a clean, modern, well appointed hotel, next to one of the best shopping malls in England, Westfield Stratford City Mall, and also conveniently close to the Metro/Underground station. The lobby area was also modern, with bar and TVs. The room was small, clean, modern and well appointed. However, we had a problem with the air conditioning in the room, as for some annoying reason, guests are not allowed to lower the temperature below a certain preset limit. Absolutely annoying, leaving the room unpleasantly warm. We had the exact same problem at the Moxy Merchant City in Glasgow, Scotland. Unfortunately this seems to be a Moxy policy. Also, If you are expecting a full English breakfast you might want to look somewhere else, they only offer simplified, "continental" breakfast, which is a shame. Hot nights and overly simple breakfast aside, our stay was pleasant. The bed was comfortable and we felt safe at all times. I highly recommend this hotel as a very good value for those traveling to London.

Located barely 100m to the Westfield Mall, the Moxy Stratford is a modern hotel that offers good rest in a contemporary setting.

The bed in the room has motion-sensitive lights beneath it and makes it easy to reach the bathroom in the night. The room cleaning service is also excellent.

I only wish they had a kettle and tea/coffee in the room, beyond that, it was a good experience.

Have stayed here a few times, each just for one night. It’s good value in my opinion for zone 2, and extremely close to Stratford station - if you’ve got a meeting in the City or Canary Wharf it’s convenient whilst not having to pay zone 1 prices.
They are definitely trying to cater for a younger crowd, so the service is slightly random - ie check in is done at the bar, and as a result I’ve seen some pretty long queues developing at times when passing this area.
The rooms are very clean and functional, but don’t expect a view, it will probably be of an interior courtyard or the railway!
As a result I wouldn’t personally staying here more than 2 nights in a row but it definitely serves a purpose for an overnight trip.

Very polite and attentive staff. Clean room (very comfy bed!) loved the lighting under the bed that comes on if you get up in the night!
The rooms are really quiet, staying in London can be a noisy affair, but this room was not and I got a full nights sleep.

Really close to the tube and train, the shopping centre and eateries.

Will be using this hotel as my new London base from now on

It is known when you see that wavy pink chic signage you are actually in for a good nights sleep, Moxy here in London Stratford go above and beyond for guests under social distanced circumstances. Nothing is too much nor to little which strikes the balance accordingly. We requested an extra towel and it was in the room within 5 minutes. I will find myself now looking for the nearest Moxy hotel while on my travels here or abroad as Quality and Quantity comes together effortlessly and it works for only a small premium.

The rooms here are reassuringly clean especially on surfaces and not a stain of any sort in sight. It definitely does pay to spend that little extra on those comforts you'd naturally only be around in your own home.

On a Business stay with a fellow colleague after our comfortable sleep, we were picked up early the next day and taken to Gatwick with a friendly goodbye from the man in reception, no grumbles here at silly o clock like what you might find in your 2 star travelodge or most other hotels for that matter.

Easily situated next to Stratford train/tube station and the Westfield shopping centre. Paid £170 a night which included breakfast
First time I have stayed here and in fairness not bad overall. The bedrooms although reasonably small are clean and well equipped with everything that you need
Overall though felt more like a hostel and the bar/restaurant is like a students union with board games and a pool table. Not that’s a bad thing, however, it’s not like a traditional hotel
Bedrooms either look over ‘the courtyard’ (other bedrooms, or the high street
Don’t know if I would stay here again, but that’s my personal choice as I prefer more traditional accommodation.

We were welcomed by a very attentive member of staff who asked if we would prefer a quiet room or a room with a view, a higher or lower level. He explained the layout of the bar & breakfast area too. The room was a decent size, large tv, comfortable bed. We were quite happy for a one night stay. Just a couple of minutes walk away there is a Wetherspoons , which is handy for food and drink and a welcome respite from excessive London prices!! The hotel is well placed for using the underground or train

Please be aware that in winter it is not possible to lower the bedroom temperature below 25 degrees. The air conditioning unit acts as the heating system. It is impossible to sleep in this temperature and if you don't normally sleep in a sauna then I would avoid this hotel at all costs

Hey hey paulmyles2018! Thank you so much for writing us this review and tell us your feedback concerning your experience #atthemoxy Stratford. We have a central system for the room temperature's control: in the winter time there's only heating and in the summer time there's only air conditioning. The system is very easy to manage, actually and our Crew can provide all the information you need. I am sorry that your stay with us wasn't the one you expected and I hope that you will give us another chance in the future, we're so nice :) Thank you again for staying with us and for spending your time to give us a feedback: this is the best feedback for us to improve our service! Unfortunately I didn’t have a good night’s sleep at this hotel due to the fact that it is located right next to the train track into the very busy London Stratford station. The noise was continual and very disturbing. Trains go into this station every couple of minutes until late at night and from very early in the morning. The hotel is very poorly sound insulated - not just from the trains but also internally from adjoining floors and rooms.

More positively, apart from the train line, the hotel is well situated close to the Westfield Stratford mall and Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
