This was the second time that my husband and I have stayed with Jude and Philip at Le Madelene and, we will be back again. Both Jude and Philip are lovely people who really care that their guests have a wonderful experience. I would go just for Jude's cooking (she made the best lamb I have ever had in my...

I can not say enough positive things about La Madelene. Jude and Philip were excellent hosts. The food was exceptionally delicious. Jude prepared a variety of dishes from fresh local ingredients, every meal was a true delight! Philips knowledge of wine was extraordinary. The accommodations were simply gorgeous, the grounds were lovely. It's a wonderful place.

Philip and Jude were excellent hosts for a wonderful trip exploring the wines of the region. La Madelene is a beautifully-restored property with peaceful countryside views, an excellent pool for hot afternoons, and great indoor and outdoor spaces for dining or conversation. The wine tour itself was excellent. Philip planned the trip to include a wide variety of vineyards including...

We enjoyed everything about our visit. The 12th century property upgraded to a modern bed and breakfast was charming, the grounds lovely. It did rain during our stay, so we could not dine out surrounded by the garden, but inside was inviting worked perfect. Jude and Philip were welcoming, marvelous hosts. Philips's Rhone wine region tours which included talks and...

I very rarely review places, but was so thrilled with my visit to La Madelene that I wanted to share with others looking for a place in Southern Rhone / Provence. The property is so lovely -- old chateau that has been renovated to keep all the charm in tact. Its removed from the "touristy" parts of the town, which...

We were so fortunate to have found La Madelene and Rhone Wine Tours during our search for options for visiting the Cote du Rhone wine region during our trip to Provence. We regretted that we only had time to do a 1 day wine tour with Phillip and couldn't stay longer than 3 nights. La Madelene's location is secluded and...

This place is enchanting! It is tranquil and seems to be from a more civilised era but has been enhanced with all essential 21st century luxuries. Originally a 12th century priory, it is idyllically situated just outside the small market town of Malaucene, surrounded by cherry orchards, vineyards and meadows. Inside it has been renovated impeccably with enormous style and...

Dear Wine and Food Lovers, I share this experience, if you are looking for a tremendous opportunity in the Southern Rhone area of France. This is something we have done 3 times, but the most recent visit to La Madelene and Rhone Wine Holidays was several weeks ago on very short notice. We visited Philip and Jude first in 2008...

Rhone Wine Holidays was the absolute highlight of our trip to France. We visited for the three day Rhone wine tour. As a wine tour it excels in every way. From wonderful tastings, to the wine served at the meals, we truly enjoyed tasting the range of different styles from the varied areas around the Southern Rhone valley (and one...
