We stayed here for the first night of our french trip. Very authentic family home, very relaxed and friendly owners. We stayed with our two dogs who enjoyed the wonderful grounds and the company of the horse on their walks! The meal was lovely, served by beautiful Charlotte, a charming hostess! And a very interesting after dinner conversation with Remy...

Obviously with such an old building it felt a little cold and damp but otherwise everything was just perfect. Splendid building and beautifully decorated internally. The owner is a wonderful host and ably supported by his wife and lovely children. Well worth a visit!!!!

The impressive façade is imposing as you arrive, but there was nothing imposing about Remy whose was welcoming us before we'd switch the car engine off. A pre-prandial glass or two of fizz in the drawing room and some passable French on my part was followed by a tasty 3 course meal with wine and pleasant company of a French...

We felt like valued family friends when we stayed here. Remy and his family made us feel like old friends. The building is AMAZING. Our room with its four poster bed and toile de Jouey fabric could not have been more French! Slightly eccentric but charming plumbing en suite. Antiques abound! We were served tea in the drawing room, dinner...

We arrived, as a family of 4 which included an 11 and 16 year old and our dog and got a welcome reception from Remy the owner. We had a lovely meal which was served by two of the proprietors children and had a great evening talking about old cars. The food was lovely and company enjoyable for all of...

Our second stay at Eporce and we loved it once again. This time, we had dinner there which was absolutely fantastic, as was breakfast the next morning. The rooms are all large and beautiful and the views and tranquility are second to none.

We arrived very late to the charming Remy who greeted us warmly at the door and showed us to our exquisite rooms. No mod cons in these rooms and they are much the better for it. This is an utterly authentic experience of someone's historic home in a magnificent location in a very quiet corner of France. The morning revealed...

We stayed overnight here between Calais and the Dordogne with our two small children. We had an absolutely beautiful suite, decorated in a wonderful historical, eclectic, charming style, with a four poster bed, two bathrooms, and a twin bedroom for our kids. Huge windows overlooking lawned gardens; very quiet and peaceful. Everything felt laden with history - wonderful antiques, beautiful...

Very hospitable, comfortable Chateau. A great place to stop over for a night on the way down south. Spacious rooms, both en suite, with a connecting door to keep an eye on the kids. Table d'hotes style dinner for the family in the evening. Horses running around the garden. Very child friendly.

This was the most perfect place to break our journey from Calais to Ile de Re. We were made to feel most welcome, as was our dog, by the whole family and their dogs. We enjoyed a delicious dinner, preceded by champagne in the drawing room. Our bedroom, complete with stuffed birds, was very spacious and comfortable and everything was...
