Have just returned from spending 6 weeks in Majorda/Betalbatim, down the road from this hotel. Just to clear up some confusion about this hotel, it is closed and has been for at least 4 years. The large metal gates, across the driveway leading up to the hotel, are locked closed. The driveway was always a rainbow of colour provided by the bouganvillia trees is now neglected. Balcony doors, from the rooms, have been left open leaving the interior exposed to the monsoon rains and the ravages of time. Air conditioning units have been removed leaving gaping holes in the walls. The previous vibrant red walls have suffered a period of neglect and are now sunbleached and covered in black mildew and mould. The once meticulously maintained gardens are now just overgrown with weeds and derelict and suffering from neglect. The only sign of life is the lone security security guard who sits in the crumbling breakfast dining area. The hotel is dilapidated and falling into disrepair. There is no way that guest can stay in the hotel. Any reviews about guests staying here are inaccurate. Majorda Beach is still operational with shacks and beach sellers, but sadly no hotel.

If you’re in the market for a handmade suit in Goa, I can highly recommend the tailor service called Cashmere Emporium. Its Near to the Alila Diwa Hotel in Majorda opposite the fishka restaurant. The Proprietor Mohammad Salim is very knowledgeable & helpful. They have a good range of fabrics and use good quality buttons zips etc. I am of large build and cannot buy good fit suits of the peg. The suit I purchased was handmade for myself and is a perfect fit. I chose a blue Italian silk material, and am delighted with it. If your in Goa check it out.

We have stayed at the Majorda many times since first visit 22 years ago and cannot understand how reviews as recent as 2017 can appear. It's not been open for 4 years maybe longer. Great pity to see the present state of the property. Furthermore well known booking agencies were even offering it last year. Makes one wonder how TA can take on reviews that are a figment of imagination s.

This resort has a huge towering complex and as of April 2018 resembles Ankor Vat of Cambodia fame. The hotel has been shut for a long time from the looks of it and Mother Nature has simply taken over , the central building is dilapidated, I did see a couple of watchmen at the desolate gates... eerie that it was, I simply sped away..... nothing short of tales from the macabre ....

The beach was lovely, the shacks sell cheap, if somewhat warm beer and some nice food, especially the seafood. BUT the local police can and will try and hustle you for everything from smoking on the beach to littering. If they hit you up, hide your cash and make them write you a ticket, they'll piss about and try and intimidate you but they wont actually do anything except write your name on a piece of paper to try and scare the other tourists they're hustling.
