This is a truly unique resort in a real medieval village complete with quaint cobblestone streets, ancient buildings and LOTS of steep paths and stairs. If you have mobility issues this is NOT the town or resort for you. There is plenty of parking in the public lot a 3 minute walk away. The underground parking is 1 euro a day and you can pay for the entire week at once using the machine with takes credit cards or coins. Seems most of the negative reviews complain about the steepness of the streets and the parking situation. The resort website warns of both issues as do many of the other reviews. If you don’t have sense enough to hed all the warnings (including this one) and have mobility issues book a room here anyway stop complaining about it. Its your own damn fault!!! We were in Room 14 which has a private deck overlooking the entire town and Castle Orsini. To say the view was breathtaking is an understatement!!! I nearly burst into tears when I saw the view from from the deck.

After 2 weeks (Egypt forced march tour X 10 days and Rome X3) our apartment was a wonderful respite and allowed us to recover energy for our next 3 weeks on the go! Located in Soriano Italy, a quaint town with enough to see and do in the region, this was a perfect place for us to stay. Equipped with a small kitchen it gave me an opportunity to cook (and shop at the to die for markets and groceries), relax in our living room, watch the news, do laundry, experience a wine and cheese tasting as well as a cooking class. Various other activities and tours are offered, an excellent dinner restaurant and gym plus spa. There is parking close by for €1/day,. We were on the second floor which required walking up four flights of stairs. The walk from the car park was steeper than the stairs. However, it gave me free license to eat all the pasta I wanted! Very helpful front desk staff, WIFI, lounges and a bar added to our week long stay!

17th C building with style and character. Fabulous views from the upper floors. Very helpful and informative frontline staff especially Sara and Matteo. Quiet location but easy to visit Viterbo, Tarquinia, coast, Rome and other medieval towns locally. Orte nearby where you can get train to Rome and Florence. Choice of local restaurants and excellent restaurant in house. Chef Roberto presents great food , themed nights and cookery lessons. Roberto also makes own bread and cheeses. Cafe Roma in the main piazza has great value cakes and coffee but you will burn off the calories walking back up the hill and the stairs if your room is on the upper floors.

Wonderful place to stay, quaint village, friendly multilingual staff! The WiFi was a bit slow, and operating hours of eating establishments in the village are not usually posted and best described as “on village time.” It’s hard to find a meal unless early morning pastry or random late night eatery found open, but this property is probably one of the nicer accommodations in the area and is very clean. The hotel restaurant is open most evenings, reasonably priced and very tasty!

We stayed at the resort for a week. What a wonderful medieval town. The building is 16th century with a lot of history. The town is small but has some good things to see and decent restaurants, the best being at the hotel. This is a hill town. You need good stamina to go up and down the hills and the walk up to the hotel is steep and about 40 meters. You cannot dream be up to the hotel. Not big enough for cars and no where to park. We had a car service from Rome and took trains to both Florence and Rome. There are no cabs in town do you get a cab from Orte that will come pick you up and bring you back to Orte train for about $45. Front desk is helpful with all arrangements. You can walk all the way to the bottom of the town...downhill, then many stairs, then more downhill, to get a local train or bus. The walk back up at end of the day will make you huff and puff. Not for anyone without decent leg and lung strength! Visit the castle and discuss tour options with front desk. We had great accommodations with a comfy king size bed. Beautiful views. Quiet and very clean! Highly recommend if you want a real Italian village experience.
