Pass through the portcullis of this tiny walled medieval French village and enter a place that time has passed by. This is one of our very favorite places in the world! If you are looking for all the modern comforts of 21st century life, move on. However, if an experience of Old World hospitality and wonder is attractive, drop your...

This is very small and quirky old place and I do love that for a night or two but it's not for everybody! We used to live in the area for almost 20 years and know this place very well. The village is as beautiful as they come and the view from the castle and the church is breathtaking. The...

My boyfriend and I and another couple friend had the pleasure of staying in Brancion. Francois and Caroline were the icing on the cake. We were driving from Paris down to the South of France. We stayed 1 night at Auberge Du Vieux Brancion. Unfortunately, we were too late for the castle tour and left before it opened the next...

Brancion is a breathtakingly beautiful spot come right from the Middle Ages. Old streets, old houses, a beautiful view and one inn where you can spend the night and eat. The latter is located in a house from the 15th century - largely in its original state. The tenants too seem to come from another century, as the lady was...

The bedroom was clean but very old-fashioned. Dinner was at...

We stayed two overnights in this inn on the way back from a vacation in Spain. The 'auberge' actually feels more like a chambre d'hôtes whereby you get close contact and rapport with the owners. The welcome and the stay is very personal. In order to make this pleasant a good command of French seems to me to be key....

We also stayed this logis-de-france accomodation here last June (2006) and loved it! It was the best time of our week in France. The auberge is OLD, so the room is worn looking (but clean) and the plumbing has been updated, oh, maybe once in the last 600 years :-) But if that's okay with you, it was fantastic to...

Brancion is a special place. It is one of our favorite places to stay in the Burgundy region. A picturesque village with historic castle (Chateau de Brancion) and 12th-century Church of St. Peter, it is located west of Tournus on a ridge overlooking the farms and forests of the Grosne Valley to the west. The Auberge du Vieux Brancion (71700...
