We stayed there for a week.
Very beautiful site with an exceptional view of Saint Aubin island and a pleasant and clean swimming pool as well as such a beautiful, well-maintained park.
Very warm welcome despite the late hour.
However, we are disappointed with the lack of cleanliness upon arrival in our cottage. It was necessary to request a replacement of the fan which was clogged with dust and therefore unusable. The cleaning was basic.
Too bad for such a beautiful estate.

Eight months have passed since our vacation to Martinique and we have spent those months looking for ways that we could move there permanently. It was the most beautiful country we have ever visited and most of our appreciation came from staying at the Hotel St. Aubin. Laurent and Joelle, the owners, work day and night to make sure everything is perfect for the guests. They remodel, cook, serve, and entertain but still find time to speak with you. They helped us with our French and gave us tips on where to go and what to avoid. On our first night we had the most magnificent meal, cooked by Noelle herself, as she did every night. We decided right then that there was no need to go anywhere else to eat - it was too perfect just where we were. Our room was large, clean, and had a beautiful view of the ocean. We were centrally located to everything we wanted to do on the island. The rum is unbelievable good, served each evening by Laurent on the veranda facing the ocean. He timed everything perfectly. I would recommend the hotel to anyone.

The only bad thing about the vacation was that the guitar festival was supposed to be happening but had been cancelled. There was no one in an officlal position that spoke english well enough to help us before we went or we would have rescheduled. You definitely need to speak a little French if you go. Going just prior to tourist season was not crowded so that was also a plus.

My husband and I travel eight +/- weeks a year. We stay in all types of accommodations from tents and very basic residences to luxury hotels. We have found that the attitude, hospitality and location make our visits memorable and almost always pleasurable. Our review of Le Domaine Sainte Aubin is meant to be constructive.

The positive- it is beautifully located with our villa overlooking a vista of fields and in the distance, the ocean. The bed comfortable and the terrace a lovely place to relax. That being said, there is so much that could be improved, beginning with the accommodations. A coffee pot would be nice. We can’t remember ever staying where morning coffee in our room was not an option. We were not interested in spending 30 euros for the two of us on a continental breakfast.
The most interesting and less than attractive aspect of our stay was that the owners appear to be operating a business with out a passion for making guests feel welcomed. One would expect that the newly constructed “bar” would have an overhang and stools for guests and offer the opportunity for a drink and conversation with the people running the hotel. Although Laurent and his wife and daughter were accommodating in responding to our requests (wine glasses, an adapter and a replacement light bulb), they appeared to have little interest in seeing that we learned what the area had to offer. Laurent is all business. I don’t believe, (admittedly, in the limited occasions we interacted with him), did he smile. His wife asked us to please let her know what she could help us with, but the general sense is that they are not geared to the hospitality industry. For example, the directions to their place, in CAPS, suggests that they are frustrated and maybe annoyed at people having some difficulty finding the place. The entry way is less than welcoming, the buildings need attention and the furnishings tired and cushions moldy. Interestingly, the notes regarding the property we received upon checking in, asked that “damp towels not be left on the furniture as they would be stained in an indelible way”. Frankly, we did not see how the upholstery could be any further damaged than in the condition we found them.
Additionally, the WIFI was non-existent in our room and did not work for my husband in the outside main reception area (noted by owners as being reliable) on the one evening he attempted to use. Kindly, however, the next morning Laurent offered to hook us up to his personal internet directly with USB. Not necessary as the WiFi did function that am in the designated area. (As we are not big breakfast eaters he allowed us to purchase Nespresso alacarte- expensive at 5.15 euros per cup). In this day and age most travelers rely on having a good connection to WIFI. Fortunately, our business allows us to work when traveling but requires working WIFI.
Overall, We believe the owners are trying hard to make their
venture successful. Unfortunately, without some improvements in the accommodations and a more genial host we do not see this venue attracting repeat and or new business.

The above is meant to be helpful. We wish you the best!

stayed there 4 nights in one of the apartments in a bungalow. we ate all dinners and breakfast there and one lunch.
place has a lot of charm with old furniture nice garden etc.
Our apartment had a bedroom, bathroom, inside a sitting area where we put the table and I used to work (decent wifi). large outdoor terrasse with a mini kitchen we used to read and for sitting, drinks etc. spectacular view of the ocean in the distance
Pool is nice but not huge with plenty of shade loungers etc...
The restaurant is operated by the daughter of the hotel owner. Food is good and service adequate. very nice people.
Breakfast was good lots of fruits, croissants, etc...
OÙne can drive to many places around this side of the island.

we are putting this hotel on the shortlist of 6 to 8 places worldwide where we will return for good rest plain good comfort and good service

We enjoyed our stay at the Domaine.
The welcome of Laura who speaks with love about the history of the Domaine.
The setting, the surface of the apartment and of course the ocean view! A quiet green setting.
A nice break thank you!

We booked one night in the hotel for the reason it was a traditional and colonial style and on arriving was not disappointed - the house itself is like stepping back in time and the views from the spacious terraces are amazing.

We arrived at 11am and check was not due to be until 4pm but we had a drink on the terrace and then the owner said it was ok to check in which was appreciated. We had read that is was necessary to book for an evening meal in the restaurant but unfortunate for us it was a Sunday and the restaurant does not open so be aware of this.

We came just to relax and this is just what we did - There is a large (very clean) swimming pool which we had to ourselves all day.

Mid afternoon we wanted a small snack or sandwich but there is no lunch / snack menu so would have meant driving into town so we just stayed by the pool.

The room itself was as expected, traditional colonial style but modernised with aircon, comfy bed and modern bathroom there is double patio door leading to a a huge walk around balcony with stunning views. Our wardrobe was really dusty with cobwebs in but I think his had genuinely just been missed, a few areas of the dining room and lounge also needed a dusting but maybe this adds to the ambience.

Breakfast was a little disappointing for the price of 14€ each the croissant, jam and coffee were fine but the fruit was from a tin and we just had a piece of bread (from a loaf) and margarine. It's a shame as the breakfast terrace is a great place and being in a French Caribbean place thought it would be easier with fresh fruit/pastries and butter. Not a great problem as we were only staying one night.

A little buffet table with cereal, fresh fruit would really make the difference here.

Overall we did enjoy our time here, the house and grounds are stunning and the rooms are fine. The friendly owner is also on hand to help when necessary, he seems to do everything (check in, pool cleaning, restaurant).

I think for 145€ + per night a simple breakfast should be included as this would make all the difference.

We were on our honeymoon beginning of February 2011 coming all the way from the cold and snowy country of Santa Claus.

We were looking for something special, authentic and out of the usual trail.
This place exceeded our expectations: hotel room was lovely, terrace was amazing. We enjoyed very nice breakfast looking at the scenery, and experienced dinner that felt like from another time. The owners were very nice and provided us with excellent service.
We have recommended this place for our friends.

We brought a wonderful souvenir from that hotel. We are now happy parents - a little baby girl was born couple of months ago.

I enjoyed to see the Ilet Saint Aubin.

It was surrounded by the ocean.

The Ilet of Saint Aubin was the attraction.

The ocean surrounded it and behind it there were mountains.

It was so beautiful!

I stood there enjoying the view. Wow!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. After reading the comments, I was a bit curious about this hotel. First, the manager, he has been nice to us, arranging to find a place to eat on our first day (because of the low season, it was not easy), and welcoming. About the hotel, the location is very good, the domain is very beautiful and the view is amazing. The pool is perfect as well. About the room, I think that it could be better. I guess that the idea is to stay in a colonial mood, but some furnitures like the carpet are quite modern. The breakfast on the first day was good, nothing to complain. It's just too bad that we can't order a breakfast every morning. A very good value for the price that we paid!
