I will write about the beautiful beach at Petite Anse Macabou. When we parked, we had a lot of writing about this beach. We headed to the beach. I loved that beach immediately. The sand looked almost white. There were lots of palm trees, perfect for shade. The ocean was calm and we could swim with no problems. There ere some small mountains as well and boulders nearby as well. We had fun here. This is a fantastic beach. Wow! Worthwhile to see!
I spent only one night at Cap Macabou before leaving Martinique. I booked this hotel because it is very close to Le Marin. The rooms are a bit too rustic for me but very clean. The pillows were not too comfy but for one night it wasn’t a big deal. We had dinner at the hotel, the food was acceptable. The staff instead was great, trying to help and make you feel really good. The beach is not maintained but it did not bother me as it was a short stay.
Where to start ? Waste and pestilent waters at our arrival in front of the reception. The terrible, horrible state of pavement in the way to the hotel, with no sign visible of the place, almost give up going. No beach whatsoever around, chairs at pool imposible to use. Never seen before. A/C unit in room attached to room key, so when you leave the room forced to disconnect the unit. 2 towels per room and worst quality, will damage your skin, 12" TV...... Will never, never return. Only thing positive, the chef at the restaurant, nicest, sweet guy and excellent food.
Absolutely not a bad choice. Beds are good, rooms are adequate, bathroom is ok, pool is fine. But why, why must they play music all day and night? Why is silence so overrated. Maybe that is the question on the whole island, people bringing their (huge) speakers to a beautiful beach to pollute it with their noise and there's no escaping it. So after breakfast, we chose to escape the 'music' at the bar/pool area (that would sometimes only bring the sound of the bass, thump, thump, thumping away, and head of for more tranquil places. It did stop at night so sleep was never a problem. If you have kids and don't mind noise, this is an excellent choice. There were a lot (and I mean A LOT) of kids running around. If you want to enjoy some peace and quiet, stay away from this place.
Hello all, if you're looking for a terrific, quiet location, search no more....this is it. We booked here again on our second visit (Dec. 2016) to Martinique because we loved it so much the first visit (Feb. 2016). Fabulous staff, fabulous dinners and kudos to our Chef, for his creativity with local flavors! The only complaint I can lend the second time around is if your looking for quiet, don't stay on the weekends as they fill up with weddings and celebrations. We were up til 4 am with the young partiers next door and downstairs from us both Fri and Sat nights, even though we asked the desk to look into it. Sadly we had to cancel our early Sat morning plans as we didn't sleep!
