This is a nice place to stay for a trip in Martinique. It is centrally located (everything is max 1.30 hours driving) and very close to a great kitesurf spot. The rental / hotel itself is in excellent shape, everything seems brand new. But this comes with a price... the owner lives next door and comes checking on you / what you are doing several times a day. Make sure you put back your pool chair in the shade, don't move the barbecue, use the swimming pool towel for the pool and the beach towel for the beach, etc. Otherwise you will be lectured (can end up not being relaxing at all...).

Other than that, the owner and his wife are very friendly and helpful despite speaking little English. They can take you on boat trips, invite you to try out their home made rhum, etc.

If you don't speak French, your stay might be more difficult though, as for the whole of Martinique.

One last thing, some rooms can be noisy due to the airco system (even when the airco is not on, for some reason...) and the hotel is not walking distance from the beach, there is only a little wooden ramp where you can jump in the sea. But the best beach of the island (les Salines) is a 20 mn drive.

This was our 22nd trip in 25 years and the BEST stay ever. The owner Dany and his lovely wife Myriam are very present and care about our stay, We miss Dany's daily HELLO and friendship. you are welcomed like no hotel personnel can offer. This is the cleanest and most design of all our rentals in the last 25 years. The studios are SUPER clean, modern design, all the dishes you need and more, bed is very comfortable, Dany and Myriam only buy the best as if it was for themselve. Spending a day at sea with Dany is a magnificant experience. QUE DU BONHEUR!! This was a vacation for a couple but a famile could easily stay as the have studios for 4 and 6 people. We do not hesitate to recommend Le Makare Lagoon Club. Paradise in Martinique is Makare Lagoon Club!!

Our reservation was canceled 10 days before our departure due to an administrative closure! No offer was given to us to relocate us and we had to find a rental urgently. During our stay in Martinique, we went to the place out of curiosity. The path to get to the Makare lagoon club is very difficult and even unacceptable for the customers.
Once there, we noticed a group of dilapidated villas, how could we rent this establishment just a few weeks ago?
Don't set foot there...

"The higher apartments have a better view (can see the sea). The rooms at the very back of the building (at least in Touaou flat) have a lot of noise as the air co system goes through it to the other rooms."
