I visited only the restaurant but I have to say this place is fantastic. The view and direct access to the Laguna Bacalar are fantastic. The menu offered by the restaurant is excellent and the food looks and tastes absolutely great. I recommend this place.

I call this Bacalar's best place to stay even though I haven't stayed anywhere else. But it was perfect. Especially for the price. Beautiful property right on the lake. The room was large with a huge balcony (and hammock) and spotlessly clean. The grounds are very lush so it feels very private. This is the only place I'll ever stay...

We stayed 2 nigts in this hotel, the landscape is beautiful but unfortunately we had a bad experience with a booking for a massage we made for 2. The receptionnist made a mistake and we had to delayed this massage and it was not possible to do it in couple, such a shame. Our romantic dinner has been delayed also...we've...

We splurged on this place for 3 nights because we would be arriving on Valentine's day after jungle pyramid climbing and driving for several days before. We wanted a place where we could relax and still feel inspired by the surroundings. The Rancho Encantado was more than 3x what we paid elsewhere (for premium room) and it was worth every...

Nice location with own pier into the lake just about 4 km north of bacalar. It's not as remote as you might think. Similar ranchos are close by, the traffic from the Cancun-Chetumal highway is clearly audible. But still a great location to do nothing but relax, read and enjoy the beauty of this place. Our room (29) was very...

Great experience! Location was fantastic and so were the staff and the food! The hotel offerred boat cruise, cajak etc which i can highly recommend. If you want to get away from touristy Playa and Tulum - you have to go here! Best experience of our two weeks in Mexico.

Well the service... I mean the place is awesome and the hotel is great, but the service might not be what you expect specially when they are having a bit more people that they "want" to serve at the same time... waitress can get pretty salty. We were there for a wedding and waitress seem to stress out pretty easy...

2 nights at a laguna front house are enough to enjoy the atmosphere. Food at the restaurant is ok, recommended are the grilled fish tacos. Only downside, during night we could hear the noise from the nearby 307 road.

We arrived mid afternoon and were quite quickly shown to our very nice room. The delay was due to the fact that to take a print of my credit card we had to run around the garden to find a connection. Food was excellent. We particularly liked the ceviche. Pool was sparkling but cold. The views onto the lagoon were...

Just a little more than half an hour away from the capital city of Chetumal and its airport, and about the same distance to the border with the country of Belize, Rancho Encantado is situated on the shores of the pristine waters of Laguna Bacalar. This area, in the southernmost part of the Yucatan Peninsula, is just at the point of developing as a tourist destination for the eco-minded traveler who seeks escape from the larger, often over-developed areas of the northern part of the Peninsula. ... more   less
