One of those times when our expectations were exceeded by the photos and the descriptions. This place is the real deal. It is a working ranch and has the original main house of the owner which is a Spanish gem. The people are very friendly and helpful. The horses and scenery are magnificient. We did not have children with us...

If you want to know a little more about rural life in Uruguay then you must visit this place - it's wonderful. It is situated in a region somewhat remote, near the town of Cerro Colorado, about 3 hours northeast of Montevideo but worth the trip. The daily per person may seem a bit expensive, but there are also included...

This place is great for the entire family. You will have time to relax, time to go on horse back riding and enjoy the country. We enjoyed the food and the afternoon tea time. We have stayed in the main house and in the guest annex, both are fabulous.

Family of four with grandpa along. The setting is a former Spanish monastary. It looks and feels original, and well cared for. Worth it to read the history. Really beautiful location. Well cared for grounds. Rustic with a pleasing polish. Fun horseback rides, fireside chats, walk the grounds. Pools are a bit small, but so are many in US hotels....

We were looking forward to our stay here. We've been to private estancias/campo's (rural houses) of friends in the past and always had a good time (riding horses, etc.). We've been to Uruguay many times so know the country well and what standards to expect. Good: - The location is great and the drive through the country side provides a...

Spent 5 nights hear in November with 3 friends and had an amazing time. Never been on a horse but managed to trot and loved the morning and afternoon rides - very sociable and good fun. The food was amazing and facilities excellent. Would highly recommend for a relaxing break particularly if you like the personal touch,

This traditional Uruguayan estancia has some wonderful old Jesuit architecture, however up close the hotel has not been maintained well. It is about a 2+ hour drive from Montevideo through the rural interior of Uruguay. There are several common rooms – an interesting old library, sitting rooms and game rooms – but the upholstery is dusty and worn out, game...
