James the owner was a fantastic host, always made sure you had everything you needed. The property was as lovely as advertised, beautiful views over looking Carlingford Lough as well as beside the Rostrevor Forest which you could see sweeping round the mountains. The breakfast we had in the morning was fantastic and the smoothies were a definite plus! If...

We stayed in the Oystercatcher for the Bank Holiday weekend and had a fantastic stay. The cottage is in a fantastic location right beside the sea with a lovely Victorian square in front of it. James couldn't have been more attentive and made us feel so welcome - he was an excellent and charming host. The cottage is only a...

Brilliant location. Spent a great few days here on my first visit to Northern Ireland. Very close to some wonderful walks. Uninterrupted views from bedroom, dining room and balcony all out of this world. Great tips from the friendly owner about things to do locally - including the 'magic road'!. Very impressed with the size of the accommodation. Fabulous breakfasts....

Attic room perfect for us as neither of us very tall however the sloped ceilings may not suit a taller person. Very quiet and peaceful...

Had wonderful Cajun white ate, selection of meats & warm bread, and a portion of chips, washed down with Oystercatcher bitter. Delicious. Dog friendly in the bar, which is wonderful, plenty of fresh water about.

The view was spectacular and the amenities terrific. James Curran, the proprietor, was an excellent host and we enjoyed his conversation at his perfectly cooked breakfasts (James has a special technique for frying eggs) where we talked about his over 100 trips to London, many trips to Scotland, and Van Morrison. James has an diverse collection of books in the...
