My partner and I had a fantastic time at Popa Paradise! Upon landing at Bocas Town airport, we were greeted by one of the managers. He arranged a quick car ride over to the boat, which took us straight to Popa Paradise (about 30 min). Many other Bocas area resorts offer water taxi service to the tune of about $150?!...

Stayed here for 4 nights as a part of an individual tour. The hotel boat picks you up in Bocas Town or on the mainland and is included in the price. The room was very comfortable - ours overlooked the beach. The grounds are lovely and full of birds - we saw toucans, parakeets, woodpeckers, herons and numerous smaller birds....

Hello again,

The pool is always open, but if everybody has gone to their rooms, the lights are turned off at midnight. We do not have fixed hours for the bar... if there is interest we sometimes stay open very late.

Your dietary requirements could be a bit of a challenge, because we tend to serve meals during fixed times... eg breakfast 7:30 - 11:00, lunch 1:00 - 3:00 pm, and dinner around 7:00 to 9:00 pm. We can fix you a snack any time during the day, but the kitchen staff finish when dinner has been served, so you will need to stock your mini-fridge with some snacks. Let us know what you need, and we can provide it as part of your all-inclusive rate.

Nightlife is somewhat limited... from time to time a pool party or beach party can continue until late. We do arrange entertainment (live music, fireworks etc) during the busy times, such as the Christmas / New Year holidays.

The Karaoke machine usually comes out when we have drinks and dinner down at Rosie's Bar... sometimes also when the rain keeps us indoors.

I hope these answers are satisfactory - we hope to see you.

Hello, and thank you for your interest in Popa Paradise. In answer to your questions:

1. Pick up from Tropical Suites is not a problem. On the other hand, the dock we use is only a few steps away from Tropical Paradise, and it may be more convenient to meet there, especially if we have other guest movements on that particular day.

2. Only the Luxury Suite has a separate (indoor) sitting area. All of the rooms have a private or semi-private outdoor seating area.

3. We do not have a top-shelf liquor package, as such. We do have a few expensive bottles (scotch, tequila etc) for which there is a small extra charge. Most guests are very happy with our regular selection, which includes popular name brands like Bacardi, Smirnoff, Gordon's, Absolut and the like.

Hello,

December tends to be one of the wetter months, although it it quite unpredictable. On the plus side, we get most of our rain at night... it is very seldom that we are stuck indoors for more than a day.

Regarding bugs, we have had a control program in place for a year or so, and it has made a significant improvement, although repellent is still recommended. December is no better or worse than any other month with regards to insects.

Perhaps we will see you over the holidays - hopefully these answers help you to decide.

All the best,

Hi Tadd,

We used to have this on our website:

snip

Popa Paradise is not a Clothing Optional resort, but we do have a beautiful, secluded and very private beach where the more adventurous are free to work on that all-over tan. It is easily accessible - but set apart from the resort itself, and totally undeveloped. We can send drinks and snacks with you for your time on the beach, but you will be on your own as long as you please, and will most likely not see anyone else but uninhibited sun lovers.

Going topless on the beach and poolside is fine - Popa Paradise is an Adults Only (18+) resort.

snip

We deleted that page, because beach erosion has made it difficult to access our "nude beach" - but the beach is still there, and still used by our guests. Come and check it out!
