Certificate of Excellence
The Saratha Vilas, built by a wealthy Chettiar merchant in the early 1900s, is a prime example of the luxurious mansion unique to the Chettinad region. The 45000 sq. ft. property, including buildings, courtyards and gardens, has been painstakingly restored, and converted into an eight bedroom heritage hotel by two French architects passionate about the preservation of Chettinad and its history.

An elegant and beautifully restored heritage property in a pretty village and prettier countryside. Everything is quiet, minimal, and tasteful. We wish we had been able to reserve a longer stay after cycling locally and meeting kind, gracious, hospitable people at village festiva

Is it possible to have ones own table for meals or do all guests and the owners have to sit together. Considering you don't sell wine, can guests BYOB to dinner?
Hello, it is possible to have a table separate. It is very flexible. The guests can also come to the common table whenever they want, and there is not fixed timing for diner. Concerning the consumption of alcohol, the rules are very strict in Tamil Nadu, it is not allowed to bring alcoholic drinks in the common spaces. Only the hotel with 21 rooms and more can get a licence.
