Perfect place to stay if you want a very quiet & comfortable B&B with marvelous breakfast and hosts that were incredibly accommodating. John & Pat were very happy to meet any needs that we had and very flexible about everything - for example letting us store cheese in their fridge and take doggy bags when we couldn't finish the delicious...

What a lovely place to stay. Lot's of very sensible concepts like his'n'hers coathangers, jars of coffee in the bedroom so that you don't have to fiddle around with little sachets, fresh milk in a flask, clear instructions on how to get the shower to work etc. Little things, but all help to make one feel welcome & at home....

The hosts, Pat and John were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. We were in the Honeysuckle room, with ensuite and a very comfortable super kingsize bed. Everything was spotless and the tea/coffee in the room, included fresh milk. The breakfast choice was excellent and freshly baked bread was a big plus. There was a large...

Warm, friendly atmosphere. Breakfast excellent. Room spacious, clean and with a comfortable bed. Ideal for walking/hiking, running, cycling, and exploring the Dales (e.g. by car).. Lots of good advice from John on walking routes, pubs and restaurants, and things to see. The cosy guest lounge is a great asset to this country B&B. Paula and Jack Amsterdam, The Netherlands

My wife and I stayed over the Bank Holiday weekend whilst celebrating our anniversary. The hosts, John & Pat, were most welcoming and very informative about the area. I can honestly say that the area is one of the most pleasant we have stayed in. The scenery is quite simply breathtaking for miles around and John will do his utmost...

Good value B& B accomodation. Hosts John and Pat were friendly and attentive and served up lovely, hearty breakfasts. The double room with en suite facilities was clean and well maintained with TV and radio. The village is beautiful and quiet and the cottage is in keeping with the traditional Dales style. We would have no hesitation in staying again...

We asked for BxB and got the best treatment we could ask for. Three days is just not long enough to appreciate all that Pat and John have to offer. Hopefully will return for a longer stay.

This was our first visit to Abbots Thorn although we have visited the Yorkshire Dales previously. John and Pat were excellent hosts - friendly and helpful. Abbots Thorn is a very interesting building, well decorated throughout, including the lounge for guest use. The room was very comfortable and clean with excellent facilities - tea, coffee, toilettries, etc. Wi-fi connection was...

I can't think of how many times we've stayed at Abbots Thorn, and I'm always eager to return. For me, it's the perfect vacation getaway. One is in a small village which is very quiet at night (and most of the day!), and yet not too far from the towns of Leyburn and Middleham. There are great walks right out...
