Beer is okay. Staff are okay. No wi fi Nothing special here. Okay for a drink. The place is dated. No one particularly welcoming or friendly. Nothing else really to say about this place. No evening meals or snacks.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. No smell from the fish and chip shop. Room was lovely and modern with all the essentials.( stayed in room 1) Overall, enjoyed the stay and would definitely return.

This place was a big dissapointment. The reviews and photos do it much more justice than it deserves. It is not a hotel just a pub/chip shop with rooms - vastly overpriced The room we were shown was spacious but was above the chippy and smelt of frying fat. The car park was busy with people waiting for their fish...

I would say that this is not really an Hotel more like an Inn with letting rooms, but still a pleasant stay, cost wise, above average but our stay need coincide with music festive in Brecon so this may have been the reason. We stayed at the castle hotel while visiting good friends who live in Talgarth for 2 nights....

The family that runs the business is super friendly as are the staff. They have obviously spent money on the hotel and rooms but the stay was let down by our rooms not being serviced for the three nights we stayed. Out of approx 7 led lights in the room/bathroom only 2 were working. There were three collapsible beds stored...

What a lovely place to stay , very clean , friendly , courteous staff. Nickola who was deputising for the owner was so friendly and accommodating . Before we visited we,d read bad reports on the continental breakfast , but how anyone can complain at the extensive choice baffles me. The fish shop was top dollar and we thoroughly enjoyed...

Tasty, great value and excellent quality and service. Recommended and will revisit if ever in the area again. We went yesterday as it was the last night of our holiday and it was better than many restaurant meals we have had. Tucked into fish and chips in the car as we couldn't wait. That's how good they were!

Stopped for takeaway fish and chips. Chips and peas were ok but the fish was really disappointing. The batter was so thick and uncooked inside that it was inedible. I don't know what the hotel is like because we only visited the chip shop.

My partner and I stayed at this B&B for both business and pleasure - he's Welsh and hadn't been home in more than a decade and we went for the Hay Book Festival. The shuttle for the Hay Festival stops at practically the door of the hotel, right at its attached beer garden. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable,...

Staff were friendly and quick to serve us. I had chips and a spring roll which was a good sized portion and fairly good value for money. Food was hot and seemed fresh. Can't comment on the actual hotel as we only visited the fish and chip shop.
