The Rest House is just that, a great place to rest and recuperate from your time in the desert. Beautiful main spaces and outdoor terrace. All rooms have a typical "vaulted" ceiling which makes every room special. The hot water was plentiful and the showers were strong - must appreciated in the dust of Sudan. Although pricey, this food board...

Beautiful resort, good food and very kind staff. The Italian Tourism Company is a very good organisation, with expert managers and tour leaders. Do not miss the sunset from the sacred mountain, the Jebel Barkal.....

Arriving here after a really fun but stomach spinning off road drive was a huge relief. Was here for 4 nights and while I loved the location of the Italian Tourism Co's other property the Meroe Camp, was a luxury to have super hot water showers even in the morning, having a hand towel and floor towel felt like an...

The place is amazing. The Lodge is located close to Jebel Barkal, just few minutes walking so you’d take a rest and see the sunset in a romantic landscape. The rooms look clean, large and air-conditioned equipped. Beds are confortable. The bathroom is wide, and you’d have a nice hot shower. The food is good but the occasional local dish...

Fabulously situated in sight of Jebel Barkal and on the edge of Karima. The experience starts at the front gate, which wears its antiquity well. Thoughtfully laid-out gardens, a lawn (!) and beautifully furnished and glazed interior public areas (a piece of heaven on earth?). Large rooms which are far, far better than the pictures suggest, each with a beautiful...

I say "almost perfect" in the title because sadly the beds were truly terrible. So hard I barely slept and unfortunately it ruined my stay as I got no sleep and by the end of the trip I was desperate to leave and go anywhere that had a better bed. Everything else about the place is magical. It is as...

After 6 hours of driving in pretty torrid desert this was an amazing site The hotel is very quiet, very green and looks divine. Rooms are basically equipped but have air-con and a proper bathroom. Food is set menu and you let the staff know when you fancy breakfast or dinner. My wife spent an impromptu afternoon with the chef...

Beautifully kept, this hotel is a shining spot in Sudan's tourist landscape. Immaculately kept, the hotel is in a walled complex with a nice grassy lawn surrounded by room blocks. There is an attempt at gardens (difficult at best in the desert). The rooms are large and adequate. The hot water could be of better strength, but you do have...

We spent 3 of our 12 days at the Karima Nubian Rest-house. Great experience. The rooms are way better than the pictures. The staff was extremely accommodating and ensured we were comfortable. On-site restaurant is very nice. Be sure to spend some time on the veranda - it's a great place for a coffee after a long day touring. It's...
