Detailed Reviews
Over all nice Campsite. Drawback, not children oriented, no playgrounds. This campsite is more the feel for retired people and executives. Security vehicles, guard office, photo ID, what? Would of been nice for July long weekend to see the grass cut. The overall "highend" campground feel was there, but not followed through in the details. Overall rating would be a 6 out of 10.
Suggestions: Kids playground, tone down the security, can scare some people away. Cut grass, and add a hose ability at sani dump so can be attached for black water flush on RV's that have it.

A one-night stopover on our way to BC in our 30-foot motor home. The campground is fairly new and is located about 15km west of Sundre, turn off the main road onto a gravel road (RR71)
Should note that the location isn’t well signposted and the turning could easily be missed and in fact we did.
And had to go a ways down the road before we were able to turn around.
We had site #27 not many grown trees around, so your neighbours can be seen. But when they plant some more trees and plants it will be a great location.
Our site had water and electricity ( 30 am) but no sewer dump, there is a central sani dump that you can use.
They do have plans to add more amenities, grow foliage between the sites, add a children's playground and an amphitheatre.
There is no convenience store on site.
However, there is a restaurant and the food was good . But a heads up the portions are large. I would go as far as to say, the top item on the menu for us was the Elk spring rolls with their saskatoon berry aioli. And we could /should have just had two portions of those and or just selected appetizers.
The RV sites can accommodate some big rig but turns could be challenging.
At night the campground can get very dark which for stargazers would be great on a clear night. Very quiet area and we would imagine that sightings of the local wildlife (bears included ) would be highly possible.
We would return again for a few nights and look forward to seeing the continual improvements that are being planned.
Note - some would say its a little pricy for the area and the fact there are no sewer dumps at each of the sites.

A few weeks ago my husband participated in a cooking class with the chef. It was well organized, the chef was very knowledgeable and made the class suitable for all levels of cooking experience. The food that was made by the participants was top notch and the chef made it fun. Today we enjoyed a Sunday brunch. Food was amazing and service was great. We got served right away , food was hot and fresh. Highly recommend!

Stayed in motel rm.7 for our 25th wedding anniversary. Had dinner reservation for 6pm. On arrival discovered that there is no front desk. Checkin is at the restaurant. The room itself was just ok. No a/c and it was 29 celcius outside so we knew we were in for a warm night. Went to the "Kitchen" for 6pm and were seated right away and then forgotten about. 20 minutes before our server took our drink order and another 15 minutes to get our Sangria which had not fruit or berries in it. It was not sangria, tasted like lemonade. The server apologized that they were out of berries but then why did she serve it? Dinner took an hour and although the food was delicious it took far too long. We don't blame the lone waitress, she was almost running between tables but she was forced to ignore us until she got caught up. All glassware had a thick film on it. I would have been embarrassed to serve drinks in it. We would not stay at the motel again as our TV had been disconnected and there was no one around to help. We might give the restaurant another try as the food was that good.

The grounds are so well kept and this is a great place to relax. Our motel room had a musty smell and although it says it sleeps 4 there is only one bed and a hide-a-bed. It worked okay for us though. We were disappointed in the seafood pasta dinner which was very small. We were planning to split it but was too small to split. The BBQ ribs were delicious and even though the lake is bit of a slough it was still pleasant to sit on their nice patio overlooking the natural landscape.

We were really looking forward to trying this restaurant as we have heard a lot of wonderful things about it. I was very disappointed. We took a friend out for a special birthday dinner (8 of us in total). The service was horrible. The initial order of appetizers and drinks went off without a hitch, but went completely down-hill from there. She never came back to check on us to see if we wanted another drink and we waited for our main course for 90 minutes. We had to flag Melissa down several times to ask where our meal was and order another drink. She replied by saying the chef himself would bring out our meals and she was sorry for the delay. Most of the meals looked pretty good except for mine and another friends. We ordered the Steak Frittes. It was supposed to be a New York strip-loin, but I’m pretty sure it was a thin sirloin. It was over-cooked, and over seasoned with cumin or something of that taste. The Cesar salad was warm and soggy and our friend got the wrong salad altogether. To top it off, the server offered a complimentary dessert to he birthday girl and ended up billing her for it. We were a table of 8 people so a auto gratuity of 18% was added to the bill. No one was happy about that as we didn’t not get good service at all. It seemed to me, that if you didn’t order the ‘Lobster’ special, you got ignored. Probably won’t go back. What a shame.

Great little room, perfect size for a couple getting away for a romantic stay. Fireplace keeps the room nice and warm. TV with full satellite channels. sitting area and couch. nice shower/tub and toiletries provided. In room fridge and coffee maker was nice. The motel staff and security were very friendly.
The Kitchen restaurant was absolutely amazing. We ate there for dinner twice and breakfast twice and found the food to be top notch as was the service. We had the elk spring rolls ( would order every time we go there ), Mongolian Beef, Wild Boar Lasagna, Prime Rib Dinner ( comes with salad and dessert... Excellent Value at $36 ), breakfast we had lobster and brie omelet, lobster benedict, country breakfast and the pancakes... Chef Chris' menu is 5 star all the way.

It was a very disappointing RV trip. Lack of signage for RV check-in when entrance kiosk was unattended. The restaurant was closed but we saw an employee in the parking lot so she phoned someone to help us. We weren't given any info regarding WIFI. There wasn't any POTABLE water at RV site or anywhere visible but luckily we had taken water from home. The cost of $45. with only electric hook-up was too high. We had just stayed at campground in Sundre with full hook-ups (water/electric/sewer dump) for $50. We won't be returning to this campground.

We booked two nights at the Motel on the Schotts Lake Resort at the end of a busy holiday helping family move to the Sundre area. The resort was quiet and very well kept. The motel was clean, tidy and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the two nights we spent there :)

We were staying with our daughter and son-in-law in the area and their friends had told them about the restaurant and how good the fish and chips were so my daughter made a reservation for 6 of us. I recommend you do this as it is not a large place and COVID spacing requirements it is obvious seating has been reduced. Our waitress was very conscientious and advised us she was the only server. We noted a large group was going down stairs which was obviously an event they were catering. The only appetizer we tried was the Elk spring rolls with Saskatoon aioli and they were delicious. I had short ribs with risotto, mushrooms and asparagus. Unbelievably tender and the risotto was so tasty. Saturday is Prime Rib night and 3 of the party ordered it for $30 which was very good and very reasonable priced as included soup or salad and dessert. Another had the fried chicken and potato salad and rated it very good.
