Really enjoyed the food and ambiance of the log cabin restaurant. Food was very tasty and portions were generous. Our server was very friendly and everything was quick to arrive. Would highly recommend it and will definitely visit again in the summer to check out the area.

We stayed at Schott’s Lake motel for a little mini-getaway. It was perfect! Room was clean, updated, and the bed was comfortable. Beautiful scenery! The restaurant surpassed our expectations. All the food we tried was amazing. The beautiful view, cozy fireplace, and rustic atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for to unwind and relax for a weekend. The staff were very friendly! Would definitely recommend!

My husband and I visited this location for our wedding anniversary. We arrived at 3:30pm (after check in time) and had to wait over an hour for our room to be ready... although apologetic, the manager just made excuses. They did give us a free drink and appetizer for the inconvenience but still had to pay full price for the room and no late check out was offered. Make sure you call them to confirm your booking... we booked a week ahead of time and they didn’t know we were coming. Also, if you stay on a Monday or Tuesday, pack your own food or be prepared to drive far into town because their restaurant is closed which we didn’t know and had no food for the Monday. I’d also recommend bringing board games, book, or some sort of entertainment as there’s not much to do there. It was ok, we just won’t be going back or recommending to our friends. Not super impressed.

Three of us travelled from Olds to Schott's Lake Restaurant. It is a beautiful drive and takes about the time, as a trip to Red Deer but the food is soooo much better and I am told, consistently so. We ordered RIB FINGERS (to share). Juicy strips of pork, served with Jack Daniels BBQ sauce $17. They were not just juicy but also fall-off-the-bone tender. Also plentiful, ordered as a main, with a side and I would be one happy camper. We than ordered the SATURDAY PRIME RIB SPECIAL which includes soup or salad and a dessert for $30. The salad was fresh, crisp, light and tasty and came with one of three house made dressings. Saskatoon, maple or ranch. When the main was served, there was a very large cut, of perfectly cooked prime rib; with horseradish and a light gravy. The mashed potatoes were rich and creamy and had Yorkshire pudding on the side (no au- jus which would have been the ultimate). The vegetables; a section of corn on the cob and multicolored carrots. It had gotten busy but our waitress never rushed us and even agreed to take our picture. She was a wonderful server and gave us great recommendations.

We spent four nights in the motel as an anniversary getaway. It was a very quiet and peaceful getaway. We arrived on Labour Day and they were understaffed, but we were reasonably well taken care of. We were somewhat disappointed that they didn't offer daily housekeeping, but the staff did provide us with coffee pods and cups as well as extra shampoo for the duration of our stay. The restaurant was only open from Wednesday on, but when we did go we found the food to be fabulous. The first night I had the braised beef ribs and my wife had the steak. Both were very nicely done with a tasty selection of mixed vegetables on the side, including roasted corn on the cob. The next evening I had the country fried chicken, which came with the mixed vegetables together with a very tasty cornbread that was made on site. My wife had the ranch burger, another delightful selection. Every staff member we met was very friendly and they all seemed to enjoy working there.
