When I arrived they took theor time getting me into my room. When I got my room key I go to open my door and the key doesn't even work. Had to go back to the desk get another key and still had to fight with the door. When I finally get into my room I go and check things out. Picked up the phone in the room to discover a peanut underneath the phone receiver. Checked out the bathroom to find that the tub taps are broken and leaking out the bottom from corrosion. The light switch by the bed was also brocken. For being supposedly refurbished room they are sure in very poor condition. If i was to choose a hotel in Nipawin again I would look elsewhere as this hotel needs some serious work.

Spent a night here during a high demand weeknight when the coveted other inn in town was full. I was a bit nervous based on other reviews but overall, the basics were covered.... the tv worked, there was hot water, staff were friendly and the sheets were clean. The highlight was meeting the house dog "Tiny" who seemed to be known to most guests.
Look, for $80 a night what do you expect? Yes, it could use a makeover (especially blankets, pillow cases) and no, it's not 5 star dining but it works if you just need a bed....

Kingfisher Inn Nipawin website advertises refurbished rooms with pillow top mattresses, fridges, and microwaves. The organization I'm attending a meeting with arranged the room based on the website information. I am sitting in a room with an old bed (not pillowtop) with dirty pillowcases, no fridge, and no microwave. I can hear every sound in the rooms next door, the hall, and out in the parking lot (my room is right over the main entrance and next to the laundry room). I will not be able to sleep tonight.

Also, to add insult to injury, the TV remote (for an old TV) isn't working. TV has buttons so can use those, but have to laugh at the sign on the back of the door that says I'll be charged $$ if I steal either the remote or the TV.

Sign on the back of the door also claims there is a fridge in the room and that I will be charged $500 if it is missing - so I went down to the front desk with the paper and told the woman at the counter that there is no fridge in the room. She crossed it off the room list. When I asked her about the 'refurbished' rooms she apologized and said not all of them are refurbished yet.

Am trying to decide if I have the energy after my four hour drive today to check out and go to the hotel over by the golf course - which has decent reviews on tripadvisor.

Worst part is that this is NOT what their website advertises. I'd be less disappointed if I'd known this was what to expect (or maybe I'd have looked for another option...).

Still pondering checking out....I have an hour and a half before I have to be at my meeting. More than enough time to switch hotels.

Stayed here again while visiting family in the area. The staff here are very accommodating and friendly. When the WiFi didn’t work in the first room we were checked into, we were promptly switched to another. It was very quiet during our stay, possibly because of Covid-19. The restaurant on site is Lucianos and we ate supper there 3 times over 2 different stays. The motel offered free takeaway breakfast each morning after preordering the night before. Homemade blueberry muffin, an egg, tomato and cheese English muffin, mandarin orange, yogurt and juice box in a convenient container. Excellent.

The rooms are very clean but haven’t been updated since our visit last summer. The parking lot is still in rough shape in spots. But because of the great staff and superb restaurant we would definitely stay here again.

It was clean, economical, staff was helpful and welcoming. A great stay. Convenient for vehicles and snowmobiles to be parked close. They even plow Eid snow away so trailers could be parked safely. We never ate at the restaurant or lounge but they also looked clean and inviting. On the Sunday the restaurant wasn’t open so a light breakfast was delivered to our room.

First we had arranged a walk out room..we have a small dog and I need knee surgery. I talked to the staff on the phone, it was all arranged. The day of, everything changed… apparently they no longer take pets..but would accommodate us as we had booked prior…but it would be the second floor.. no pets on the first floor (should they not know their policy) Ok, fine, we excepted it … there was a fishing derby in town and rooms were scarce! We get to the room … it looks nothing like the pictures of a “queen deluxe”… it was missing one of the headboards, the mattresses were fixed with a piece of foam that wasn’t as big as the mattress…not comfortable! I doubt the comforters had been cleaned in a long time from what I saw. (I had my own blanket)The bathroom was super small and the tub did not drain… it was the most depressing room already… then there were the extremely loud people down the hall at 3AM! And…when I had called, I was told no charge for the dog… when I left, a $50 + tax was added to the bill ..which I had refunded! (I would never agree to pay $50 for a dog) What could the dog possibly ruin in a room that was already in very bad need of refurbishment? This is supposedly a 3 star property? I would go to a near by town then stay again!

First night, no problem. Left in morning, toilet plugged. Told desk clerk about toilet, and request for additional towels as bath towels are small. Returned late evening and room was not made up, no new towels, and toilet still plugged. Apparently they couldn't find a plunger, and couldn't be bothered to go out and buy one on a weekday. Desk clerk brought fresh towels, but said she could do nothing about the toilet. Made no offer of another room, I had to ask. She did find one eventually. Bed looked made up, but sheets appeared to be unchanged, dry coffee filter in coffee machine, and brown marks on bath towels...didn't bother trying to smell it! Email to manager got no response or apology. Just because rates are cheap doesn't mean one should have to put up with this! 3 star???, my a#@!

Nope. Probably the second worst hotel I’ve stayed at. The restaurant is permanently closed. The bar claims to serve food…unless the cook has decided to go home. You can’t actually access your room from outside the hotel after 11 without going through the bar; I don’t know what you’re supposed to do after rebar closes. The only place I’ve stayed worse than here had rubber sheets on the mattress (true story).

The room was full of flies and stunk. When I inquired at front desk I was given fly swatter and Febreeze. That night my fridge stopped working and I lost all my food and drinks. When I opened the fridge in the morning water flooded out all over the floor.
I was told nothing they would do, didn’t care. Gave me a towel to soak up water. Asked to speak to the owner - he refused to take my call and went thru his office staff and told them to tell me to leave a bad review if I had a problem. Wouldn’t cover cost of the lost food even.
Don’t fall for the continental breakfast, is a juice box, yogurt and granola bar served to you in a baggie.
Highly recommend to avoid this place.
