My girlfriend and I booked a four night stay at Tacuaty after looking for an authentic estancia experience online. It was superb. This was a pleasant surprise. Located on a large estancia (farm) belonging to the descendants of a British rancher, we had a formal lunch in a large dining room that was exquisitely furnished. We stayed here for a couple of days on our way back to Asuncion from Iguazu and the Misiones, and could happily have spent another day chilling out. We were made very welcome, with coffee and snacks on arrival. You can wander around the estancia or go riding. The food was delicious, all home-made, including the bread, and the service...

This is the first place I can say their web page makes no justice to the real deal. Located in the Jesuitic Route, it is relatively near to the Jesuitic Ruins, the Yacyreta dam, the cities of Encarnación, the european-inmigrant cities of Bellavista, Hohenau..., the japanese-inmigrant colony of Pirapó, the citie of Ayolas (known for the delicious fish).
