What an absolute disappointment! We were looking forward to this as we had heard so much about this place. Not worth going out of our way. booked two "deluxe" cabins. Would hate to think what the standard rooms are like! One room was unliveable, covered in bugs, beds looked as if they hadn't been changed. Sofa in lounge area looked...

The restaurant seemed ok - we were there quite late in the afternoon so service was quick (we were the only people there). Staff were very helpful w.r.t. vehicle mechanical issues. Quite a few quirky souvenirs on offer, and some good Aboriginal art on display.

Obviously had to stop at this iconic landmark to eat. Very busy at lunch, queues, but quite well organised. The locally-named burgers very nice. Local mudmaps by the original owner are useful & available here. Note, petrol got cheaper the closer to the Stuart Hwy.

Pretty well the only show in town this flamingo pink vehicle repair shop/ petrol station/shop/restaurant/campground is a wonderful experience. The people who work here are a great resource as to the condition of the Oodnadatta track. One can ring them on 1800802074 for information anytime. A real person will give you real time information. The campground is basic but serviceable....

We camped in the grounds behind the Pink roadhouse. The grounds were a bit rough and ready as were the amenities. In saying that the showers were hot and there was a basic camp kitchen. All appreciated and we used them. The rain though had brought the mosquitoes who were short of a feed until we arrived. The Pink Roadhouse...

This is one of those iconic outback Australian landmarks that you have to stop in at. Located on the Oodnadatta Track, it's a nice place to stop for a rest and a drink. You can't help but notice it as it's bright pink!! Oodnadatta itself is a very small town and not too much there, but definitely worth a visit...

Stayed 1 night. Usually camp but understandably in this neck of the woods grass hard to come by. Decided to get a room. Expected a pretty basic "donger" sort of accommodation but it was much better than basic. Queen bed we think quite new - very comfy. Had everything you would need. Ensuite, 2 hotplates, little oven, jug, toaster, satellite...

I understand that there has been a considerable amount of rain in the area lately but we actually paid to pitch our tent in mud, I was disgusted !!!! I know we were in the middle of the outback and I don't expect 5 stars but hey we really had no other choice, whats wrong with throwing a little road...

Thats pretty much all this is or at least it was when we went through. The service was extremely slow - all overseas tourist running the place - and now seem to know how to run a kitchen. We ordered an Oodnadatta Burger and about 30 mins later it finally arrived, and it really wasnt that great. Plenty of others...

The Pink Roadhouse is definitely an icon and worth a visit. The fact that Optus works (but not Telstra!!) out here is amazing and that is about as good as our visit got. We stayed in a cabin (double with a set of bunk beds) in the caravan park assosciated with the roadhouse and were very disappointed. It smelled musty...
