We were there in peak season so it was massively overpriced. We paid 4 star prices for a 2 star hotel. Room is tiny, bathroom smelled, weird plastic portable bidet. Carpets were torn. Two people could not move around the room it was so small. The bathroom was gross so we were afraid to use the shower and we didn't take our shoes off because carpet was gross.

Great welcome, super customer service. Hotel is a little dated , Room small, but has all you need including a good sleep. Attention to detail is great, decor is mismatch but you get all you need. Every balcony has flower boxes for example. Nice swimming pool in a lawned area, relaxing. . Owners kept a center balcony table for dinner for us, so spent the evening taking in the views. Small restaurant menu but good food. We wish we could have stayed longer.

Let me start by saying the family running the hotel are the friendliest hotel owners i have met, a nice welcome down to breakfast and dinner each day and always smiling. The son(i think) waited on me to arrive at 2am which was nice despite me being almost an hour late.
The view from my balcony was absolutely fantastic overlooking lake como and the mountains!
Now the rooms.... the bathrooms are new renovated and are nice, not bery big but its all you need. The bedrooms however are very dated like something from the 80's/90's, the beds also feel like they are from that era, springs poking into your back and very very small single beds, that creak when you move on them. This not not make for a good nights sleep!
The food in the hotel was ok, breakfast buffet was good, i visited in April and was the only guest , soi maybe in the summer there is a bigger variety. Dinner however was not so good, i expected some home-made Italian cooking, however it was a bit like microwaved lasagne and the main course was slices of cold beef with fries, not very italian. However it was reasonably priced, however i got a meal for the same price in Como in Pepe Nero and it was superb!
Also the pool was not open yet because it was April and cold, but it looked lovely.

Terrible experience 1 week booked for 160 euros per night
Dirty room, tiles broken in the bathroom on arrival terrace packed for this we had to pay 2 euros p.p
Sunbeds pool 3 euro p.p pay
Pool was a very dirty edge in
Breakfast was awful almost nothing eaten dry cake, no cold cuts, if you were unlucky the croissant was gone, nothing refilled
Evening eaten pizza (just leave it) insult for an Italian to reserve pizza
Here the pizza man was not a decent man walked all week wearing the same clothes and had the dirt under the nails
And then the gang around the hotel
We've gone home early from misery
The only thing we enjoyed was the view
I don’t write a reveries quickly but I don’t wish anyone a holiday like that for 160 euros a night
We put our complaint to them and they just laugh it off.

Structure with excellent location with breathtaking views of Lake Como. Excellent cuisine (both owners are passionate about cooking) with fresh ingredients, bought at the market every day. Fantastic breakfast with lots of biscuits, brioches, croissants, cakes, etc, made in cases. Beautiful garden with ample parking, swimming pool with ample space for deckchairs and sunbathing. Excellent and very kind service. The perfect structure for families, as children are welcomed and pampered as if they were the owners' children. Super recommended.

Small friendly family run Italian hotel/b&b, if you want all mod cons look for an Ibis, if you accept charm for what it is, stay with Flávio, Flora,Narcisse,Camilla, Andrea and Ernesto, truly lovely people. The food was delicious and the view exceptional, remember your approx 3km above Lake Como as the crow flies and approx 15 mins by car down to Bellagio. Only 1 negative the boy motorbike racers who like to rev up the winding road, never bothered us, but it might some. The terrace offers spectacular views of Lake Como, and added bonus swimming pool with snack and drinks bar. Would definitely return for exceptional hospitality.

Absolutely avoid! Shabby welcome, rooms dating from 1980, raw concrete shower that doesn't drain, door frames from 40 years ago, dirty swimming pool, broken and uncomfortable beds, go elsewhere!
Don't look for lunch, the hotel is so disappointing and decrepit that the meals are probably adequate, we didn't even have breakfast

If you stay here you will need a car! Busses are very infrequent and there isn’t anything much around shop wise. We got stuck in Asso and the lady behind the desk said she would pick us up for 70€ so we walked. Room was small and a bit dated. The most stressful break we have ever had.

I stopped for lunch and I was positively impressed by the view that to say beautiful is little because the view of the lake is enchanting. I ordered a second course: roastbeef with vegetables, very good and plentiful. Modest price and friendly staff.

Hello, is this hotel a far walk from the lake?
Answer from Koosb
Karen, Kenya76 contributions22 helpful votes
Yes, although you have a very nice view of the lake from the hotel which is situated high above in the mountain, it is quite far from the lake and I would recommend a taxi if you are not travelling with own transport. The nearest distance to the lake is about 7 or 8km at Bellagio.
Answer from MIRABEAU H

From the station of S. Giovanni and Very Simple arrive at the hotel , you have to take the bus direction Canzo - Asso and ask driver which stop the Hotel Mirabeau . He will leave you just outside the door d ' entrance to the hotel . waiting for your Arrival, we wish you a good journey !!!

"Choose a room with a view. There were rooms with view to the lake, but no balcony or with a view and balcony. We stayed in a room just with a view- it was amazing, you just wake up and have the whole lake in front of you. The room was very sunny"
