Detailed Reviews
Great property about 30-40 min from Whitehorse but well worth the stay. Owners are incredibly accomodating, communicate often and take service to the next level. Make sure to read the emails and xontact the property at least 24 hours out especially if arriving outside check in hours. The common areas in the ranch are great for relaxing and interacting with other guests and if you have to leave before regular breakfast then they'll pack something to go. Hang out by the fire, hot tub or on your porch and check out the stars. Plus great musical playlist piped through common living room. Well worth the stay and plan on going back.

We went to Boreale Ranch to see the Northern Lights and boy did we ever. I recommend staying 4-5 nights since the aurora are unpredictable at best. On our last night we saw a fantastic display of aurora.
The meals at Boreale are excellent. All the meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner are family style. We had Arctic char one night, salmon and pork tenderloin other nights. Every one of the meals was excellent. The accommodations are very comfortable, however I do recommend, if you are a light sleeper, to get a room away from the kitchen and upstairs. Other than that no complaints. Staff are very helpful, accommodating and friendly and so is the ranch dog Jack!
I highly recommend getting the winter clothing package if you don't have your own heavy duty winter clothing. Coming from California we don't need Arctic type winter clothing so getting the clothing package was perfect. Parka, insulated bib overalls, insulated water proof boots and liner gloves with fur lined mitts will keep you very warm as you view the aurora for several hours. If you get cold, you can just pop in to the lodge and warm up with some tea.
You can also book other activities such as dog sledding which is a lot fun.

Oh my god what can we say!
We’re so upset because now every hotel we stay at is just trash in comparison to the Boreale! This place blew our minds in every way!
Despite not seeing the Aurora in our 3 days on site, we lapped up the luscious landscape and spent our days relaxing by the fire, tobogganing and bushwalking though the snow trails on site. And we also enjoyed dog sledding and snowmobiling.
THE FOOD. Okay the food was incredible. I ate things I wouldn’t normally eat, and everything, and I mean everything was delicious. They completely catered to a vegan couple that joined the guest group, and made proper wholesome vegan meals for them which was lovely to see.
Every staff member was professional and friendly, and also quite knowledgeable on the land!
We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely recommend and return!
Thankyou very much Boreale!

We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights at the Boreale Ranch. The setting is spectacular and the staff create the most comfortable ambiance!
We were in the detached suites which made use of the outdoor jacuzzi a little easier. The food was amazing and our hosts were able to accommodate our fussiest eater. The relaxed feeling we got, the minute we walked in the front door, was a constant and I always felt at home.

What a wonderful treasure this facility is! We stayed here in February 2020 with hopes of seeing the Northern Lights, we were not disappointed! Although the lights can be very unpredictable, we were very lucky and got to see them both nights we were there. The ranch is beautifully accommodating & sees to your every need. I highly suggest staying here if you get the chance, you will not be disappointed!

We recently stayed for a couple nights as part of a northern lights package. Everything about this place was fantastic. The rooms, the people, the food and the ranch itself! Highly recommend a stay here. Perfect place to chill out or there’s plenty of activities to fill your time. The best of both!!

The accommodation was basic but fine. The surroundings are nice enough although far away from airport and Whitehorse, The food was decent and plentiful. The honour bar was nice with plenty of choice, Overall, the place is down to earth and relaxing. It is a shame that the owners are so aloof and take absolutely no appreciation or interest in their paying guests. when present. The dogs are fine for those who are comfortable wth animals. Not enough care or attention paid to guest requests or concerns, The "viewing platform" is very basic, small, slippery and far off. You might as well stay at a cheaper hotel in town and be part of a tour that takes you out to an ideal location to view fhe Aurora since they will treat you better, provide warmth and ambience with a bonfire that was never honoured at the boreali Ranch as well as provide snacks, hot drinks and entertainment. It is too bad since boreali ranch could be so much better with just a little more effort.

What a great place! Beautifully decorated and great layout. The views, the food, the location, the service - all brilliant! We used the fat bikes, sleds, snowshoes, hot tub and took the dogs for runs - not a chance of getting bored for the 5 nights we stayed. Very comfortable and friendly. 10/10 would recommend to any traveller who wants something special and unique! We will be back in summer.

We wanted to see the Northern Lights and knew that there was a good chance to see them in Whitehorse. We were lucky! On one of the three nights we were there, the Northern Lights performed for hours.
What we hadn't anticpated is how much we would love the Yukon. Absolutely beautiful mountains, rivers and fir trees.
The beauty of staying 40 minutes outside Whitehorse at the Boreale Ranch is that you wake up to the sight of mountains, it is wonderfully quiet and you can see the Northern Lights from the property.
More importantly, you enjoy wonderful accommodation provided by two of the friendliest, most knowledgable Yukon ambassadors. The meals are delicious, nutritious and beautifully presented.
Instead of just coming to the Yukon in the winter to see the Northern Lights, Marsha and Silvan organize daytime activities for you such as Fat Tire Biking and snowshoeing in the mountains. What fun!
I would recommend the Boreale Ranch unequivocally.

This lodge is lovely, clean, beautifully decorated and comfortable. But the amazing staff is what makes Boreale shine. Everyone there is friendly and helpful. No detail is overlooked. Meals are served family style at a long table allowing guests to interact. The staff arranges trips and tours for activities like dogsledding or snowmobiling. Everyone enjoyed their activities and the knowledgeable guides. The food served is high quality, healthy and creative. We went for aurora viewing, and got to see the lights from the lodges viewing platform.

We were recently at Boreale Explorers. The best time of year to see the lights is February and March. I believe Boreale would pick you up at the airport
