We ate here on several occasions on our recent visit to Runswick, the food was excellent and the menu varied. One member of staff, Steph. whom we had contact with regularly, was excellent, very friendly but professional with great customer care skills. Will certainly return and stay in the accommodation.

We called for a late lunch after a walk with our dog and were very impressed with the food and service. Very comfortable surroundings and welcoming fire. Staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Steph, who was obviously run of her feet but coping really well! Would definitely recommend and imagine it would be an excellent place to stay.

We visited for some tea and a few drinks with our dog, both fires were blazing and it was very cosy. The staff were brilliant, very helpful and polite. The food was some of the best we have ever had. Thankyou to all we will vist again

Even though the weather was not really good, the Runswick Bay Hotel is a lovely place to stay, especially if you're travelling with dogs. The bar area is cozy, the staff very friendly and no matter what weather, the dogs are allowed to be with you all the time (of course except the restaurant). The rooms are a bit... (odd...

We stayed a few weekends at the Runswick Bay Hotel in both May and June 2016. We were allocated the family room (room 3) which delighted my children as they got to fight over who got "top bunk". It had some lovely views out towards the village of Runswick Bay. All the staff made a huge effort to make us...

This time we weren't staying here as we rented a cottage in the village but,we had a lunch and an evening meal here. The quality was as good as ever and the welcome just as warm as we remember for us and our Great Dane! We cannot speak highly enough of the things Simon and his staff have achieved here...

We stayed at the fabulous Firs Guesthouse and were recommended this hotel to eat. Given it was the end of a long hard day the welcome was most appreciated. The staff really made an effort to accommodate our requirements... by the end of the evening we were firm friends... Steph set the standard but Hayley and Tom delivered. We were...

We stayed as 2 couples, one with a dog. A lovely and friendly place in an excellent location for exploring the Whitby area without the hustle and bustle of Whitby itself. Staff cannot do enough for you, always a smile and great service. The rooms are comfortable and well presented. The breakfast good and the evening meals are excellent. Nice...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located at the top of Runswick Bay, the bay itself is only a 5 minute walk down the bank.  When you decide a day on the beach is quite enough you can make your way slowly back up the hill and come join us for a refreshing drink and either a light lunch or a main meal.  We are also the ideal location for a short weekend break or a longer stay if you desire. We are situated on the long stretch of coastline and surrounded by the North Yorkshire Moors which makes for a fulfilled stay, as the amount of activities to do are endless. The Cleveland Way runs directly through our car park so we are the ideal spot for a nights stay for a break in your walk, being just a short distance from Whitby. We are proud to support local businesses by supplying local beers, produce and artwork.  ... more   less
