Detailed Reviews
This guesthouse was very elegant and clean, very well furnished. We really enjoyed the view and the breakfast was delicious with an option for every taste. When we arrived fresh bread was cooling on a wire tray.
As my daughter said guesthouses will have a lot to live up to after the Ahakista Lodge. It was very well done.

Stayed with our two teenage grandsons for six nights and had a truly enjoyable experience. I cannot fault the 'Lodge' in any respect. The room was spacious immaculate with a powerful ensuite shower. Josephine and Gerald are expert consumate hosts creating a friendly relaxed atmosphere. Nothing was too much trouble. The highlight of the day was the freshly prepared locally sourced breakfast that catered for all tastes including delicious pancakes. Tea, coffee and cookies on the landing. Wi-Fi worked well. Secure parking. Located with views across the surrounding countryside and inlet. A very good water side pub around the corner. Would love to return.

Superb Bed and Breakfast.
Fabulous en-suite bedroom with the most amazing view.
It is apparent from your first step inside the house that the highest of standards are presented in a lovely, warm and relaxed welcome.
Wonderful choice of breakfast provided as well as extra self serve tea/coffee station.
Very conveniently located for driving around the Durrus, Bantry or Mizen head area of West Cork. Also within walking distance to two lovely local pubs. Arundels serves food and the Tin Pub is an absolute must see if in the area.
We would definatley stay here again if visit this area.

We stayed at the Ahakista Lodge for one night as we were attending a wedding down the hill at the tin pub. Really lovely B&B, lovely bright clean room with a view of the sea. The owner dropped us down to the wedding when we were ready which was very kind. Fabulous breakfast choice with homemade granola too. Everything cooked fresh to order and was very tasty. If ever back in this beautiful area of west cork, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here.

Our second visit to this wonderful b&b. Josephine and Ger are the most wonderful hosts. Their house is in a beautiful location and absolutely spotless. I’m still wondering how she keeps her towels so white! The breakfast was 1st class. They even have vegan pancakes which were AMAZING! My husband claims the breakfast to be better than the 2 five star hotels we have stayed in since! Will definitely be back again next year.

After a long wet hike on one of the areas harder loop walks Ahakista lodge was a welcome sight. Perfectly located near the legendary “tinny shed” and the other fine bar and restaurant ,Arundels, the b+b is a cut above your average place. The room is like an upmarket hotel suite spotless tastefully furnished and welcoming. The hostess Josephine and her husband have made a special place to stay - the breakfast was faultless and worth the fee alone. The rates are very competitive for such luxury, highly recommended.
