The Post Alpina 4-star superior Chalet is at Versciaco near San Candido. Situated right next to the Monte Elmo ski lifts, its position makes it an extraordinary paradise for cyclists, mountain bikers, downhill and cross-country skiers, hikers and for families in general.
Star ratings are intended to indicate the general level of features, amenities, and services to expect. This property is classified according to Giata.
For the second year we are guests in this hotel. The structure is made ad hoc for adults and children. It is equipped with all comforts and attentions. Extremely clean, accessible. The staff, from the owner to the staff in charge of tidying up the rooms, is of a courtesy and kindness out of the ordinary. The cuisine (for those who opt for half board) is worthy of a Michelin star or little away. Everything is designed to make parents relax and entertain children. The location is unique, with direct access to the ski fields and, from there to the lifts of Mount Elmo. The price is expensive but definitely worth it. Every year it weeps my heart when I leave.

The management of this hotel couldn’t be any nicer. They genuinely cared about their guest experience and I won’t bore you with the countless times I saw them show compassion towards myself and other guests just take my word for it. The staff followed that lead. The rooms were the cleanest I have ever experienced staying in a hotel and believe me when I say I check for dust behind dressers and under beds to see how well the rooms are cleaned. This place is geared towards families with small children. They have everything a kid could ever want including pool toys and safety swim arms if you forgot your own. The playground so close to dining area which made it easy when they were done to go outside. Our kids loved this place! My picky traveler side comments which you can discount just laugh if you disagree: Tyrollean food is not our favorite but they have a selection of meats, cheeses, and fruit along with salads which gave us other options. This is unavoidable in this area. I think? We wish the pool was open later (closes at 7 pm) and the spa window was also too short for our liking. It opens late and closes early. I would have loved to use after kids went to bed. I guess this is good for sleeping children but bad when your child still wants to swim after dinner. The childcare was great but my children were bored with it after the 2nd day so we couldn’t get them to go back. Big bummer! They are 5&6 and felt to many babies were in there. It would have been nice to see this separated toddlers and babies away from young children. I guess it would be like a teenager having to play with kids my age. The dining room was stuffy hot and we wish they would have opened the doors to let beautiful fresh air in. There was also no outside dining option for dinner which was a total disappointment for the summer weather. Maybe due to flies inside but they could get some sort of screens and open the sliders. Maybe it’s just because I’m American and Europeans don’t mind being sweaty eating. We would also have Amazon”ed” a fan before our stay for the room. There is no a/c and some nights no breeze or cross ventilation. I don’t like sleeping hot and sweaty either. The beds were a little hard like Japanese hard which is also not the most comfortable thing for me. I asked for an extra comforter to get more padding. These would be the only reason we will try another place when we return. If our review was soley based on hospitality we would come here again and again! This is also why I give 5 not to bring down a rating because maybe I’m just too picky with above comments.

Fantastic!!! If you are looking for relaxation and comfort within everyone's reach, even children, this is the ideal place. Strong points: beautiful rooms, excellent cleanliness throughout the hotel, directly on the slopes, as soon as you leave you find yourself in front of the slope where the children have lessons and just beyond the cable car that connects all the facilities. Exceptional mini club, my girls (4-10 years) had a great time, they really organize lots of things and above all super opening hours from 9am to 10pm with the possibility of having the children have lunch and dinner with them (I didn't use it), professional and very nice. Sublime cuisine, compliments to everyone in the kitchen because everything was excellent, my little daughter really appreciated the small area reserved for both breakfast and dinner to serve herself. TOP! The only advice, in my opinion, is the price of water (since it is not included in the half board at dinner it is questionable but paying 4 euros per bottle seems excessive to me) For the rest everything is perfect, small internal swimming pool with few deckchairs and seats available but the external one is enchanting.... Stunning adult SPA! Overall an excellent structure, a stone's throw from San Candido, we hope to see you again soon....

The Post Alpina is a very good address for families (especially with small children) to spend a comfortable ski holiday.
We particularly liked: - The direct location on the piste and the beginners' slope is extremely practical - Everything is particularly easy to organize, as all services are offered in-house: ski rental and service available directly in the hotel, the partner ski school comes to the hotel for registration - Friendly hosts - Well-trained, committed and friendly staff; everyone was particularly nice to our children - Very good food, also for the children - Kids club on the ground floor in the immediate vicinity of the bar and restaurant and not, as is often the case, somewhere in the basement and far away from the rest of the building's infrastructure
We have the following small points of criticism (complaining at a high level): - The inside entrance to the pool is a bit small, in particular there is a lack of places to lie down (the room is simply very small) - The employee at the ski rental shop was the only one who didn't seem motivated, e.g. we parents had to check the fit of the equipment ourselves, like with a ski helmet (we're used to it differently) - The lighting in the rooms is sometimes too weak, and there are also a few areas in the restaurant that are too dark (we swapped our table because of this, but this was no problem)
Overall, we were very satisfied and would like to come back again.

Excellent family hotel set in the splendid scenery of the Alta Pusteria Dolomites. The location is perfect for taking advantage of all the opportunities that this area offers to tourists, adults and children (the cycle path to Lienz and the ski lifts to Mount Elmo are right in front of the hotel, San Candido is only 5 minutes by car while Lake Braies can be reached in 1520 minutes). The extremely picturesque structure is small and rather intimate: it consists of a main building, where all the basic services are located, and some chalets arranged in a semicircle around a pleasant heated swimming pool (both internal and external). However, the spaces are a little limited: in the afternoon hours the pool can be a little too crowded and it is not always easy to find free sunbeds. The reception, bar and restaurant are all located within a single space and the kids' club is just a few meters away. The initial feeling is a bit claustrophobic and not entirely positive but as the days go by you realize that what at first might have seemed like a minor flaw is actually the great advantage of this structure: in fact having everything at your fingertips within reach helps parents a lot in managing their children who in this way can always have them under control and enjoy a bit of relaxation at the same time. Also thanks to the excellent miniclub run by good, attentive and competent assistants like I have never met before: it is easier for parents to relax at dinner or during an aperitif when they know that their children are in good hands. The not excessive size of the hotel also helps socialization between children who make friends more easily and, in the end, everyone gets to know each other a little. Not to mention the countless activities organized by the girls at the miniclub: outdoor barbecues, moonlight trips with lanterns, karaoke... In short, the children will be thrilled and the parents will be able to enjoy their well-deserved holiday. A special mention should also be made to the restaurant: good cuisine with friendly, helpful and very flexible waiters in satisfying especially the requests of the little ones. Finally, the impeccable cleanliness and order that characterize the entire structure complete my more than positive opinion. Absolutely recommended for families with children.

The hotel is part of the "Familienhotel" chain Every year we book in one of these hotels for the offer and quality typical of "family hotels" in South Tyrol. The Post Alpina did not meet our expectations precisely because we know very well the structures that are part of the group and we found shortcomings in our opinion unacceptable. The hotel looks like a 4 Star S and costs as such but the rooms are not up to the category for the quality of the furnishings (too simple and basic) We asked to vacuum the room again after normal cleaning (which was done without problems) but it was not pleasant to find the floor poorly cleaned. In a family hotel (4 Star S then there is no question) you absolutely cannot miss the afternoon snack! In all structures (even in the 3 stars now) is offered the afternoon snack, there is no provision. The swimming pool is clean and well furnished but small to accommodate all guests. In the afternoon, (when there is more crowding) it fills up, impossible to find a free deckchair and if it unfortunately rains, it is impossible to stay as most stay in the indoor pool. Excellent gastronomic proposal and courtesy of the staff. Overall we were fine but will not return for the inadequate value for money.

The dream holiday for families. We booked our stay at the Post Alpina following the advice of friends with families who had stayed there. We visited this part of Trentino, beautiful, but rather far away for us, just to be able to stay in this hotel. It was definitely worth it. We were pleasantly surprised by this experience. Lots of attention to detail and high quality services. Attentive, friendly and experienced staff. Spotless rooms and cleaned to perfection every day. The common areas are also cleaned impeccably every day. The swimming pool is warm with a play area for children, an internal part and an outdoor pool. There is also a sauna and steam room. There is a play area for the little ones well stocked with games. The mini club has 4 teachers and a daily program of activities. It's open non-stop from 9am to 8.30pm and our son kept asking to go there. The spectacular dinner with candle moons, classy tablecloths and crockery and dishes on par with a starred restaurant. Attentive and kind waiters and the very kind owner passed by the tables every evening to chat. Each evening had a different theme: from the gala dinner to live music to the aperitif. The rooms are equipped with everything necessary for the little ones and the location of the perfect wing is ergo, just a few meters from the ski slope. I hope that the quality and attention of this magnificent place never changes

We had an amazing time at the Post Alpina this July. We traveled with our young 10 month old daughter and everything was so comfortable. The hotel has its own unique charm being in chalet style structures and surrounded by nature.
The pictures online and in various reviews give a true and fair representation of the property itself. The staff are really amazing and provided us all the support we could ask for. At breakfast they prepared fresh scrambled eggs without salt for our baby. We ended up cooking most other meals in the room kitchenette. We enjoyed the pool, the baby playroom and various walks and excursions outdoors.
We look forward to coming back!

For the second time we stayed at Post Alpina. Two adults and two children who had a lot of fun with the swimming pool, mini club and games in the courtyard. We adults enjoyed the delicious cuisine, cleanliness, professionalism and friendliness of the whole family and staff. Every person deserves to try the Post Alpina.

We stayed in the "Family Suite" with half board in the main building for a week and everything was excellent. The atmosphere was very relaxing and this apparently also passed on to all guests and children. In any case, the hotel is also ideal for couples in our opinion. The selection of food at both breakfast and dinner was more than plentiful and the preparation was extremely tasty and there was something for every taste; the staff and service were very attentive and friendly. The location to the ski slope/ski rental/ski depot is ideal and the spa and fitness area was functional and sufficient. The suite was actually too big for the two of us but we booked at short notice and so the selection was "limited". There could only be blankets in the room so we could snuggle up on the sofa/balcony (but we didn't ask for them). We would ask there again any time and spend a lovely winter holiday. Simply great.

Carissima Signora Giulia!

There are more places to choose from in the Versciaco di Sopra area.
