A lovely hotel in a great location with great potential. Unfortunately we have been disappointed now on 2 separates stays.
Our room had no window except out into the corridor. There was no natural light or fresh air, this is very unpleasant and there was no warning on check in or at booking.
Due to Covid 19 we apparently needed to book a table for our pre paid breakfast but this was not mentioned at check in. In fact, nothing was mentioned at check in except that a key was handed to us.
The breakfast was varying quality across the 2 days and the service is always slow and surprisingly unattentive.
At check out the staff do not ask if everything was OK with your stay so it seems they are not interested in feedback to improve.

We chose this hotel due to its close proximity to Snetterton Race Circuit, there’s a dearth of good accommodation in the immediate area, & Breckland Lodge is a less then 10 minute drive.
Rooms are fairly basic, & ours was rather dark & gloomy - if we stayed again we’d opt for a first floor room as they have bigger windows. Beds were comfortable enough, the shower had plenty of oomph, & tea/coffee making facilities are provided. On the downside, our TV glitched constantly. Staff were wonderful throughout the hotel - really helpful & friendly, & it’s they who made the difference & won us round to the place. We found the restaurant & bistro rather charmless spaces, particularly the restaurant, which encompasses a carvery. We didn’t come with high expectations but food was actually very tasty, the breakfast too.
Overall then - decent value accommodation with terrific staff.

This is a copy of my email to the general manager:

I understand you are the general manager. I wanted to give you some feedback following our recent stay. We are a motor racing team with 3 drivers and 4 support people staying in 5 rooms over 3 days.

Prior to the stay I had to chop and change dinner arrangements a few times including increasing numbers up to 10 on a, presumably busy, Friday night. No problem.

From check in onwards everyone was genuinely (not corporate trained) friendly.

Reception people, young guys behind the bar (when I had to buy drinks for 10 at a busy time and people kept arriving) who still gave prompt service, responded to our jokes and apologies, the three girls serving at dinner who all joined me to settle the bill and laughed and chatted with us, the lady serving at breakfast who had to to and fro numerous times as we arrived in dribs and drabs (she was on Friday and Sunday morning) and was mock cross with a smile, the cleaning ladies I bantered with and caused me to stop at reception when they were all standing there and say “ why are all of you so genuinely nice and friendly? It makes it a real pleasure to come here!” Needless to say their response was not straight out of the corporate correctness book and only endeared them all even more.

So thank you. You have a great team. If only our stays at hotels for for other races meetings across the country were as enjoyable as this one.

Feel free to share this other staff and the hotel owners.”

Stopped by on way home from Norfolk. Free car parking. On arrival there was a member of the team stopped us and asked what we wanted to visit for food and confirmed there was space. Also requested we wear masks when going into the restaurant area.

We ate outside but had to go inside to order drinks and food. This, I found annoying as you had to get up from your table each time you wanted something. I also think this may cause spread of Covid as staying put is better than moving about.
We ordered our food arrived quickly and was hot. I would say this was all prepare and not fresh. I had dessert this was pre frozen and was ok nothing special.
Staff were friendly, but I would say to have a member of staff around to help people who are eating outside to go and order and deliver drinks.

Nice and friendly staff restaurant very good only thing would like more vegan options.

Now that we have close to 100 thousand new vegans every few months in the UK

This number will only increase.

You need a car for this hotel to get around very busy to the main road but with double glazing on your rooms cannot hear the traffic do not know in the summer.

Rooms were very clean.

Will go back

Carry on the good work.

We stopped two nights at Breckland Lodge and could find no fault at all (except the WiFi being a bit slow in the evenings when everyone is logged on!). Premises are newly restored, modern, clean, spacious, and well maintained. The staff were helpful without being overbearing.

We ate in the Bistro one evening and the main dining room the second evening. Both locations were staffed by friendly, courtious, professional people. The food was good and plentiful with a wide variety to choose from.

The hotel is very easy to find and situated conveniently on the A11 between Thetford and Norwich. I would recommend it to anyone either to stay, orjust somewhere good to eat.

Very pleased with our stay at this lodge. Three adults shared a clean, comfortable room. Dinner in the evening was excellent. Two of us had the carvery and one had the camemburger, which we all enjoyed. Two free desserts came with the carvery and including drinks the bill came to £55 which was really good value, no wonder the dining room was full! Staff were friendly and helpful. I just wish we lived nearer.

Compliments to the receptionist Jo Ann who made sure that the service level was high - offering flexibility and even made sure that I could have a (very) early check in. Great. The location is very handy and the place offers a practical meeting place - with both a coffee part, bar and restaurant.

I’d eaten here a few times, but last night was my first overnight stay. The room was basic, reminiscent of motorway travel lodges, except the shower was superb - hot and strong.

Evening meal in the bistro was quiet and pleasant, and the full English breakfast awesome - I’ll not eat again until this evening!

Stayed at Breckland Lodge as we had a track day at Snetterton race track. Great location! Really impressive grounds, was met in the carpark and checked in. Price was very Good value. Check in all good and very COVID safe with a temperature tester in the reception. Rooms really neat and tidy, they have everything you need plus modern in room A/C And heating unit. Highlight for us was the restaurant, excellent fair priced food with very large portions, good choice and very rustic. The noise from the A11 is fairly loud, but close easy location off main road has to be expected. Big thanks to the staff, you’re a credit to the owners! WELL DONE!!! 👍
