Emmanuel, Janet, Alex, Franc and the whole team were so welcoming and brilliant. They could not do enough for us. Great people. Be aware evenings are chilly in this part of Rwanda in August but an open fire in my room plus hot water bottles in my bed made sure I was toasty and slept really well. The food was lovely and, apart from one evening where the group I was with made weird decisions, it was hot and plentiful. The gardens are lush and lovely. The lodges are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was good especially the omelette chef who cooked to order. I really enjoyed staying and meeting the team. Emmanuel was always on hand to check I had everything I needed including a roaring open fire where I sat in the reception areas, good wi-Fi, coffee and red wine. Good luck to the hotel and the team as they recover from the pandemic - I hope many people visit them. They deserve every success.…
The hotel was very accommodating and always tried to please us as guests. Unlike most visitors who stay one or two tights for gorilla trekking we we there to build school classrooms in Muko. So had a much longer stay. Other than a few maintenance things to sort out such as shower curtains to prevent water soaking the whole bathroom floor the hotel was an absolute delight to stay at and worth the money. Open fire in reception and in you room if wanted help keep you warm on the typically chilly evenings. Food was a good standard.
This is a great mid-range accommodation option in Kinigi – the jumping off point for Volcanos National Park. The staff were delightful and the service was excellent. We checked in late in the day, tired after a very long drive, and the staff immediately organised drinks for us from the bar, rather than getting us to fill in all the tedious paperwork first. After our visit to the mountain gorillas – we arrived back at the lodge in the afternoon. We were allowed to check out late and go back to our room to shower and pack. In the meantime the staff washed our muddy boots! Great attention to detail – thank you.
Excellent food very nice staff take really good care great rooms very nice here recommended. Always here to help. Lots to see around here. Clean our shoes pants when needed. If have any problems always there to help. Very kind and nice people
My son and I really enjoyed our 2 day stay at Le Bambou. Emanuel and his team were wonderful. Going out of their way to cater to our every need. The food was plentiful, and excellent, based on produce from the local area so it was amazingly fresh. They spoilt us with attention and all kinds of extras, and all with a smile. You are in good hands if you decide to stay.
This lodge makes you feel like you're with family. The staff is wonderful, the rooms/cottages are clean and lovely and the food is pretty good - especially the banana fritters and the African tea with ginger. The staff took really good care of me - this was particularly important since I was a solo traveler. They would even clean my shoes and socks the moment I cam back from trekking! I would love to go back again for a longer stay. Thanks a lot.
Very cosy and typical lodge. Great service and good food. Romantic stay and nice rooms with comfortable beds. Manuel was a friendly manager helping us with practical things. After the visit of the NP we were received again with An African meal and we could freshen up. Even our shoes were cleaned.
We are a Swedish could who spend five nights at Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge the first week of July 2022. Due to medical problems we had to prolong the originally planned three nights so that we both could enjoy the Gorilla Trek. Given the misfortunes we left the lodge with a very good feeling both of course because the great encounters with the gorillas but also because of the great service provided by the staff at the lodge. The manager even followed us and spend an evening at the hospital so we could get the right treatment. Everyone in the staff walked an extra mile to make sure everything was OK and we felt extremely well taken care of. The lodge has a great location close to the starting point for the trekking. It s beautifully located within a bamboo forest with very nice garden. The bungalow was spacious and the open fire added to the tranquility of the place. There is also open fires in the main areas that makes it a nice place to rest after trekking. Apart from the nice food served at the lodge one also get a lunchbox for the trekking. We honestly loved this place mostly because of the fantastic staff but also because of the great location and homely feeling of the lodge. Comes highly recommended Magnus and Lillemor Hultin…
Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff and Emmanuel. Beautiful Lodge surrounded by bamboos. Room was comfortable and spacious. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner was wonderful and they had a wide selection of food. Location was good with a 5mins drive to the Volcano National Park. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Le Bambou.
Stayed here for a couple of nights and have no complaints (well ok, I can of a couple which I’ll list so you can see how minor it is!) Staff friendly and helpful, (they currently employ 2 Ugandans as they tend to speak English more fluently than Rwandans at present) and food is good and plentiful. Very serene and quiet. Safe provided in the room, and hot water bottles are placed in the bed in the evenings. The individual bungalows are very spacious and the bathroom was one of the largest I’ve seen anywhere! The shower had full power hot water too! Bed very comfortable with a mosquito net to cover it. Ok, the negatives. Wi-Fi is only available in the lobby and was a bit intermittent. Certainly not strong enough for a phone call. And the light switch in my room (room 14) is by the front door and not the bed. So bring a torch! Also bring a fleece/sweater for the evenings.…
