My partner and I spent 4 nights at Le Bambou as our base while we experienced the incredible Gorilla and Golden Monkey trekking and Volcano Hiking. We were blown away by the attentiveness of Joel and the rest of his team- keeping the fire going for us every night, filling hot water bottles for us to keep the bed warm and spotlessly cleaning our (very!) muddied hiking boots each day in time for our next excursion. The meals were balanced, varied and tasty, always prepared with care 3x a day. We wish you all the best!

We had a very nice and comfortable stay at this lodge. The staff was extremely kind, food amazing and its location perfect. They even cleaned and dried our wet clothes and shoes after the trekking + put hot water “bottles” in out beds during the night. We would definitely recommend

We absolutely loved our stay at Le Bambou. Nothing was too much trouble for Ben, Frank, Charity and the rest of the staff. They even cleaned our hiking boots and socks and laid them out ready each morning for our daily hikes. Meals were wholesome and delicious, ask the chef to make his banana fritters - yummy! Accommodation is basic but very clean and comfy. A special touch are the hot water bottles every night. Location is excellent for the gorillas, golden monkeys, volcano hike and within walking distance of the Diane Fossey exhibition. We would love to visit again!

We was a couple and both of us were so excited being the first time in such a beautiful amazing place,the rooms were lovely warm cosy the fire place fire place kept us so warm and the hot water bottles were an added touch.The food and the service were exceptional,staff were amazing and so friendly,we was so close to the gorillas and we loved it¡

We had such a great stay. So relaxing and peaceful. Room was spacious and comfortable. The fireplace and hot water bottles in the bed were a great touch and made it feel so cozy. Staff were incredible and so accommodating. Would definitely recommend!

This is a tough review for me to write. The people and staff were incredible and fantastic. But the property itself is in desperate need of an update. That's why this is hard. I wouldn't stay here again, though the staff were terrific. The room always felt cold...with stone floors and stone walls, it was hard to ever get warm. The hot water bottle and fireplace in the room helped, but some smoke got into our room each night from the fireplace, making it uncomfortable and our hair, gear and clothing smelled like smoke. The furnishings are old and outdated. The dining room is dark and not welcoming. The TV was always on, and loudly on, in the lounge and we found it distracting. Even when no one was there or during the dinner service, the TV was loud and interrupted our enjoyment. The food and service was fantastic. You can walk to the Dian Fossey campus from the property. Wifi is only in the common area.…

Moses and his team at Le Bambou made sure our stay was cozy and comfortable. The chef made the most tasty and fresh vegetarian meals for us! The room was well appointed and clean with hot water running and a fire place to keep us warm through the night. Would recommend any day!
