Fincachica was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. We stayed at Casita Chica, one of four rental houses on the property. All the houses are very secluded and private. Casita Chica is the closest one to the house where the owners live in the premises; anyhow we never felt our privacy diminished on the contrary we...

We stayed with a group of friends in one of Emilio's lodges for christmas and new years (about 2 weeks) and it was amazing. The setting is beautiful in the jungle but still close (2min walk) to the beach and supermarket. A taxi into town is about 3000col or you can rent really cheap bikes and it takes you about...

We stayed at Casa Lagarto for about a week and it was an amazing place. First, Emilio was a fantastic host and took care of us from getting us fresh towels to calling a cab. The house itself felt like it was in the middle of the jungle - we heard monkeys each night and didn't see lights from any...

Stayed here about a month and changed houses midway through (as scheduled). Photos are accurate. Pros/Cons list is most expedient, so here you go: Pros: The location is convenient being near a grocery store. WIFI Internet is available throughout the complex and fairly reliable, albeit slow ~100k/s. Jungle location means there isn't any road noise. Owners are quick to respond...

Occasional water supply interruptions mentioned in this review were caused by the severe draught the south Caribbean coast went through along several months of year 2011 and the daily cuts in the city water supply which would only operate for a couple of hours along the morning. Thanks to our back up water system this inconvenience was reduced to a...

We had a great time in this unusual home. It was a really cool place to stay. I felt that we had our own little retreat away from it all. Our host was great, another family who we were travelling with could not get in touch with agent they had rented with. Our host had them stay in a vacant...

Finca Chica is a nice place to rent with kitchen. The only inconvenience is that it is not in front of the beach and the room is very dark.

This was an incredible place to stay. The house was gorgeous, the grounds lush and exotic and the hosts lovely. 15 minute bike ride into town, 15 minute bike ride in the other direction to the most beautiful and peaceful beach perfect for swimming with kids, and a great grocery store at the end of the block. My 2 year...

My need to get away to a beautiful, serene environment hit its peak in September. I was exhausted and in dire need of a break from the hustle and bustle of Dallas and my very busy job. A Costa Rican friend of mine encouraged me to check out her island because she suspected I'd find just what I needed to...

After trying most of the hotels and hostels in Puerto Viejo, I can assure you that you will not find a better deal or better surroundings at the Finca Chica. I have been here twice already, once for a month in 2009 and again for another two weeks last year. I cannot wait to come back this spring. This place...

This is a beautiful property, but the owner decided to do construction for almost the entire time I was here, in spite of the fact that he knew how much the noise was a bother. Also, be prepared to be woken by their roosters each day, beginning at 3:30am. Finally, if you rent house #4, you are basically in a...

As in any other touristic lodging business there are maintenance and/or small scale construction works that may need urgent attention. We did our best to syncronize our efforts in completing the task as fast as possible with the daily schedules of all our guests in order to avoid them further disturbances. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused along this...
