We've been walking again - this time almost 9 miles in the stunning Clun Valley, topped off with the breathtaking vistas at the Bury Ditches Iron Age hillfort. We weren't planning on Sunday lunch - it sort of evolved as an idea on the way back (it getting near lunchtime by the time the thought entered the agenda), so made...

Very quiet in the pub today. Choice of roast beef or the veggie dish. Traditional Sunday lunch was well received by the other half. I opted for the bean chilli. Well presented with rice, guacamole sour cream and pitta bread. The whole ensemble was delicious. Limited choice not a problem on our first visit but hope there is a rotation...

There are new landlords at The Sun and they appear to be doing a great job. The menu changes regularly and is delicious. I chose steak and it was the best I have had in a long long time. We live locally and have been put off from eating here for years. We will be back very soon. Highly recommended.

We stopped off for a pint and a bite to eat whilst exploring the area and weren't disappointed. Lovely old 'proper' pub with character and charm and dog friendly, which is a must for us. The menu wasn't large but still a good choice and the food was delicious. There were decent veggie options and they catered to my fussy...

We ate mid week, where the choice was a Chinese Buffet or items from the main menu. The Buffet had 4 main courses and was full of locals. Even though it looked good, we opted for the fish & chips. this was a very generous portion, and fitted the bill really well after a full day out. There was a...

We booked two rooms three days before we arrived. Everything clean and tidy and rooms were ideal for us. Food in the pub was tasty and well presented and the local beer was excellent. In between landlords on our visit but everyone was very friendly and helpful. Some southern pubs could take a leaf out of their book on how...

After a trek around the nearby Castle ruin in the blazing heat of a glorious sun this was just the ticket for some refreshment. Luckily the 15th century pub serves a refreshing brew called 3X which was up to the task. The pub is allegedly haunted by at least 4 spirits but we only saw the usual spirits attached to...

We came in here for a drink on a busy day in Clun. Although only one person serving and it was busy, the guy was very relaxed and created a relaxed atmosphere. We didn't eat but they were serving hot baps. The chef who was very lively came out with some bits of meat for Dennis our dog! Lively atmosphere

We stayed here on a cycling holiday. Weather was grotty on the day we arrived and the licensee had stuck the heating on in our room because he thought we might be cold and wet....... what a star.... good man. The room was fine, clean and tidy, we had the place to ourself and slept very well. The beer here...

We were showed our room No 3 in the annexe near the car park it was off a musty smelling corridor and it was tiny with dated decoration and fixtures. The bathroom was adequate but I struggled in the small shower cubicle there was sufficient hot water, towels, and shampoo etc. Three days in the room was difficult especially when...
