Fantastic hotel, incredibly friendly staff, very modest, but always willing to do anything for you. Bruno took us for a walk around the area, rarely hit someone who was so proud of his village. Good food, good wine, nice pool, the road through the village to the hotel is a small adventure, but you get a really good feeling when...

I strongly recomend this little mountain hideaway. It's a very charming place to relax and enjoy yourself in a peaceful environment. The view over the mountain is absolutly beautiful! The staff couldn't be friendlier and experts in making guest feel at home. The food is also great! Very carefully planned meals, beautifully made with the freshest ingredients of the region....

A wonderful welcome! So worth the drive from Lisbon to indulge in a weekend of complete relaxation. Knowledgeable, friendly, professional staff - nothing was ever too much trouble. Relaxed breakfasts. Generous, delicious suppers freshly prepared using local ingredients (non-meat eaters catered for at short notice). Stunning views from the rooms, swimming pool and terraces. Next time we'll stay for longer....

We cannot recommend this place enough! An absolute oasis in the mountains. The biggest and most comfortable bed we have ever slept in, a jacuzzi bath tub, romantic and idyllic view over the mountains perfectly positioned so the sun sets over the swimming pool, beautiful contemporary art, very peaceful and quiet, incredible food and the loveliest staff. They even posted...

Driving through the narrow and winding streets of the village of Lapa is kind of an adventure but what a bonus when we discovered the hotel! All the modern comfort and superb design fitted in a 19th century townhouse: what the architect achieved with this place is truly amazing. The staff -discrete, friendly and very helpful- made us feel at...

My husband and I visited in late September 2012 as the first stop on a two week swing through northern Portugal and Galicia (Spain). Casas spoiled us right off the bat and set the bar incredibly high! We arrived in the daylight (thank goodness), but rain. It is a challenge to find and I was thankful hubbie was at the...

What an amazing spot. Beautifully done, with service to match. Enjoyed two great suppers there as well, and cannot fault much. I guess it loses one rating spot, because the village itself had very little to offer with respect to socialising, but hey, that's not their fault. Go, you'll love it.

Breakfast and dinner was delivered to our front door every day and was good value and definately recommend it if you have kids. We...
