This almost twenty-year old hotel has seen better days and unless a drastic make-over is performed on it, it may fade away and becomes a victim of competition. It was once a first choice hotel especially for official functions but the present facilities are not up to expectation and it has become a place just to sleep. Breakfast was not... More

A great welcome from a smiling receptionist who spoke very good English for East Malaysia. My room was on the top floor (5th), which was just as well as there was a private party in the dining room that night, and the sound system for the guy trying to emulate Tom Jones was deafening. It could be heard by the... More

We had booked 2 nights at this hotel via an agent. After staying the 1st night we refused to stay for the other night. We were allocated room 314 which was grim. Cigarette burns in furniture, old bobbly blankets on beds, dirty carpet & walls. The bathroom was mouldy with cracked tiles. The shower had was filthy and the hot... More

This is one of those old hotels. It's decor has a mid 80s to mid 90s feel to it, which is not a bad thing since they maintained the place well. I like it since it gives me a sense of nostalgia. Location wise, it is right next to the Darvel Bay Plaza/Mall where you can do some shopping and... More

We changed the hotel after 2 hours after arrival. The hotel has his best time behind and is: very central, in the middle of the town, not far from the airport very friendly staff at the reception, no problem with checkout after 2 hours bad smell in the floor, a mix between old dust and cleaning supplies noisy from the... On the way from Danum Valley is was necessary to stay for one night in Lahad Datu. The Executive Hotel is a hotel evidently for sales people. The room had an unpleasant smell of strong smoking. It was small and simple, no charme. Over every lamp shade there was an inscription: do not put anything on the lamp. Obviously this... More

Stayed one night en route to Danum Valley. Clean and comfortable with very helpful staff. Evening meal was fine. Breakfast not so good - toast ok. Live entertainment at night was just that - entertainment! Overall it was fine for one night or so.

The hotel room was ok with me. Nice and simple and clean. Good for a day or 2 days stay. Basically no bad review on this hotel. In addition, got free breakfast in the morning.
