The room we booked (Pearl) was very spacious and comfortable. I thought that the hotel decor was lovely, especially its references to tin mining. The staff at the family pool, the restaurants and Maria the concierge all helped to make our stay a great one. All of the people that we met working at the hotel went out of their...

This hotel offers absolutely everything you could wish for in a hotel. Careful thought has been given to every detail. It's a return on investment. Close to the beach, large clean designer rooms with great views, excellent food, kids pool and adults pool, helpful staff. I will definitely be returning.

Great place to relax with wonderful rooms. Here on a work incentive with around 80 plus colleagues from around the world. The hotel grounds/estate is large and on occasion everywhere looked the same at night and potential to walk around for sometime. Easy access to the beach and a few bars. Also believe local massages cost around £4 whereas in...

My husband & I recently returned from a stay at The Slate. The hotel is very impressive with a lot of the fixtures & communal areas having a mining theme. Our room was near the beach entrance which was handy but this made for a long walk to the breakfast dining room (almost half a mile !) The breakfast though...

As a hotel, The Slate does have 5* facilities, multiple restaurants, pools and activities. Rooms are spacious and the pool villas do offer the chance to indulge at a sensible cost. The decor and theme of the hotel is based on a tin mining history, so it is quite rustic. The main problem is that the interior colour scheme in...

The place is so different from any hotel I have ever stayed in before. Great welcome and taken to our room in a golf buggy. Our large room had everything we could need. Plenty of outdoor seating as well as a bath on the balcony! Air conditioning was efficient and there was also a ceiling fan on the balcony. Bottled...

There is something to see at every turn, whether it be the decor, the layout, the landscaping, the pools, the room, etc! It's is a...

Only a 5-10 minute drive from the airport to the hotel but that proximity was a bonus for us as it meant that we didn't have long tedious transfers. Don't worry though - no problem with aircraft noise at the hotel or in nearby Nai Yang. It's a large site so even when the hotel is full it doesn't feel...

This place is extremely expensive and it's just not worth the money! First, it's not on the beach nor can you see the beach from the hotel. So, if you'd like to be at the beach you have to lay on mat in the sand that you rent from one of the locals. Second, the resort is quite large and...
