We stopped here on our third night of cycling the rail trail and the long 'gradual' climb into Wedderburn the day before made me very pleased to see our cute little cottage for the night. The views from out cottage were spectacular and the whole setup was great. The Red barn was full of info and even had an 'honesty'... More

An excellent location in the beauty of surrounding farmland. . Clean tidy and fresh. Great bed or was that the effect of a long cycle? Hotel nearby was very inviting with excellent meals and service. So quiet and peaceful. Wonderful hosts.

Cold and wet off the rail trail we arrived at Wedderburn Cottages to be welcomed with a beautiful, comfortable and cosy warm cottage were we could get dry and relax. Rooms were super comfortable and breakfast was plentiful and a good start to the day. The set up at the Red Barn was clever and allowed for an ice cream... More

We chose to check The Cottages out before doing the Otago Rail Trail. They are fantastic - well appointed cabin, great bathroom, nice and cosy, good heater. Host is excellent. Lots of information available. Continental breakfast provided, and Wedderburn Tavern, across the road, does a great dinner and desert too. Highly recommended stopover for trail riders.

A wonderful place to spend evening at cottages. Our room was very clean and shower pressure was awesome. Lots of heating on a cold night. Great continental breakfast. We want to hotel for a scrumptious meal. For up at sunrise to watch awesome dawn from cottage deck. The Red Barn has informative photos and reading. Great place to stop.

We were doing the rail trail in a party of five so stayed in the lodge, which proved to be really comfortable and well appointed. It's the old farm house, so it has everything that you would normally find in a house. The kitchen is a bit small, though, but Wedderburn Hotel is just a short walk down the hill,... More

After completing 50kms on the bike trail into a head wind these lodges provided a very welcome sight. The small cabins were well appointed with a double bed, ensuite and kitchenette (kettle/microwave and small fridge). A continental breakfast was in the fridge which included juice, cereal, toast, condiments, fruit and yoghurt. it made for an excellent start to the next days riding. The... More

We had a very comfortable cottage with a bedroom and ensuite. It was immaculately clean with good quality bedding. The actual rail trail passes through the centre of the cottages so there are places to keep your bike and the next day you just bike a few metres from your door straight on to the trail. The view from the... More

This is better than basic accomodation for such a remote place. Each cabin has an ensuite bathroom, sitting space, a king-size double bed (or more) and cooking facilities. It was frosty when we awoke but the sun soon came through the windows and warmed us. The local pub was excellent for the evening meal if you had not bought you... More
