    How far is faro airport
    65km (40 miles) It takes 45 minutes if you go by car or taxi but if you get a shuttle bus you are looking at an hour and a half by the time it goes round all the resorts on the way there. We had to wait for nearly 2 hours for a shuttle to be available the first time we went. The second time we took a taxi and was there in 45 minutes Well worth the extra cost.

    I am traveling mid October If the weather is not great is there much to do around the hotel/area?
    Not a lot around close by, but if you get a taxi into the town centre there's a little more. Ask at hotel reception they are good at suggesting.

    What is the weather like here in October? And is the taxi cost expensive to get to places?
    Weather is still pretty good, even in Winter and was up in the 30s during the summer. We made a decision to hire a car from Gold Car as we wanted independence and the transfer from the airport can prove very expensive. Gold Car offer 8 days car hire for around €250, fully comprehensive insurance so no worries (but get your insurance/rental directly from them to avoid any discrepancies). When you arrive then there are some additional charges for tax and tolls but there is quite a substantial refund for tolls depending on how many major roads you use. Hope this helps!
