We stayed here three years ago and returned again this summer, same great experience! Ean and Marion are such wonderful hosts, and made us feel welcome. Views from the villa are wonderful, the bedroom has A/C, and the property is absolutely gorgeous. Will definitely stay again!

If you looking for a retreat from other tourists and are prepared to do self catering or can taxi or drive to eat then this is a marvellous choice. Set in an organic haven for wildlife a couple of villas are nestled amongst the banana trees, native flora and course the bird life which you can spend all day admiring. The owner is very knowledgeable about the bird life in particular and is incredibly helpful in getting you the best out of your time in the area.

If you're looking for a vacation getaway to escape to that is private, off the beaten track with its own unique eclectic charm, owned by the most hospitable and friendly people, consider visiting Adventure Eco Villas located at Adventure Farm and Nature Reserve, renown for their wide variety of resident hummingbirds and approx. 20 minutes from Crown Point airport. This little piece of 'bird heaven' is tucked away and nestled between lush tropical gardens with vegetation that boasts towering Samaan, Poinsettia, and Teak trees. If you are a nature-lover, value a different experience from your usual beach focused vacation, and enjoy a laid-back setting, this is the place for you. The owners, Ian and his wife, Marion made me feel instantly at home and are true ambassadors of Caribbean hospitality and generosity. I spent 2 weeks in "Coco's Apartment", a one-bedroom, self-contained cottage located next door to the family home. The cottage was simply furnished and with every convenience. Located on the opposite side of the property was Adventure Eco Villas - two lovely Chalet styled self-contained cottages with a large balcony between the two units. The open-air living areas had large wooden shutters that opened out to a panoramic view of the entire reserve. You almost felt like you were outside! The natural beauty of the surroundings with majestic trees towering overhead was indeed breathtaking. I promised that on my next trip, I would definitely stay in one of the Villas. Every morning, I awoke to the early morning cries of the Cocrico (Tobago's national bird), right outside my bedroom window, then at night, I would go to bed to the sound of crickets, frogs and a host of other sounds. Such a vastly different experience from the busy sounds of Florida! My days were spent wandering around the 12-acre property, walking the nature trail, foraging for local herbs to add to my meals, and picking fruit from the numerous varieties of trees; citrus, mangoes, sugarcane, papaya, and banana. There are two beaches (Turtle Beach and Arnos Vale) just about a 20 min. walk from the reserve. Arnos Vale boasts a magnificent coral reef and is amazing for snorkeling. Turtle Beach is known for the giant Leatherback turtles that make their way to the island to nest. I would recommend that you rent a car to get around the island to enhance your vacation experience, and oh....do not forget the mosquito repellant! :-) The highlight of my day was spent sitting on the covered patio outside the main house, having afternoon tea with Ian, Marion and Dora, their energetic and friendly cocker spaniel, and observing the hundreds of hummingbirds that whisked to and from the gardens to the feeders that were set up there. A variety of other birds would make regular appearances, the resident Mot Mot and Woodpecker, Blue Tanagers, Barred Antshrike, Bananaquits and a host of others. This is a bird watcher and a photographer's dream! These hummingbirds showed no fear of being in close proximity to humans....so close that you could actually touch them....well, then again if you were quick enough. I have never seen so many hummingbirds in one place at the same time...It was magical! I would highly recommend that you visit Adventure Farm and Nature Reserve, also known as "Hummingbird Capital" (rightfully so!), and experience the tranquility and charm of Adventure Eco Villas and Coco's Apartment. Their friendly and accommodating staff will make you feel right at home. You will leave there refreshed, with fond memories and a new Tobago family!

I spent three nights here with a friend and had a blissfully relaxing stay. Each of us took one of the villas and had the spot to ourselves. The villas are beautifully designed and allow you to enjoy the surrounding nature to the full, with plenty of windows and the deck, which is perfect for sunrise and sunset yoga. Excellently kitted out kitchens so easy to self cater. Very comfortable beds. Ean and his team have put much thought into the villas and there are so many beautiful touches that made our stay special and memorable. The grounds of the villas are a nature lovers delight, bursting with flowers and natural beauty, as well as a haven for bird lovers. If you're looking to relax off the beaten track, this is the ideal spot. Beautiful beaches are a short drive away, and Plymouth provides all you need by way of shops, but while at the Eco Villas, you feel you're lost in paradise.

A friend who is visiting from England suggested we do a few days of yoga and relaxing. Having facilitated a solo yoga retreat already for someone at AEV, I recommended it as a venue. We stayed for 3 nights and each had one of the two villas. So we had individual personal time and space, yet had the wooden deck between the villas to meet and do yoga or eat together. An added benefit for me was that I was allowed to bring my dog Venus. I can't think of other hotels or guest houses that allow this. She got along well with Ean's dogs and enjoyed walking the trails and sniffing around in Nature. Mornings and nights in particular are extremely peaceful and cool, with mainly bird sounds. The place feels open and safe. The villas are simple, spacious and comfortable and the large firm bed prompted me into a deep sleep each night. Ean and his staff are very kind and helpful and do what is possible to make guests feel comfortable. Overall AEV has a natural, homely vibe. Perfect for people who want a quiet setting and don't necessarily want or need to see other people walking in and out (as with a hotel). Great for anyone wanting to do yoga or focus on writing, painting, or any endeavour that requires alone time, silence and inspiring surroundings. The wifi is quite strong and steady. Having only two villas is ideal. If you book both, better yet, as you have the whole deck to yourself. Having a vehicle is a plus so you can go out and about if you want to. Otherwise, Ean arranges for tried and true taxis and tour guides.
