If your idea of fun and relaxation is a mix of exploration and a little adventure, or simply, just to connect yourself to nature, we are inviting you to MITHI RESORT AND SPA, which is only 20 minutes away from the airport and the seaport and a 15-minute leisurely drive from Tagbilaran City, the capital of Bohol, Philippines. Nestled in a 14-hectare natural terrain, this uniquely secluded resort is endowed with half a kilometer white sand beach which is exclusively for the use of resort guests. The room accommodations are three meters elevated from the beach, which in effect, not only offers a panoramic view of Tagbilaran Bay with a mountain range as backdrop, but provides better security as well. The resort has facilities for honeymooners, wedding events, as well as conferences, company, school, family and group outings, extended vacations, weekend escapades and other types of celebrations. Apart from the excitement that the island has to offer, the resort proudly presents the Mithi Spa, a perfect haven for quiet relaxation and pampering. Spa offerings include a full menu of massage, signature therapies and beauty treatments. The Dream Islet right in front of the beach, and the resort's natural underground cave where you can take a plunge in its natural clear waters, add even more uniqueness to this piece of paradise.

I was surprised that we arrived in the new Airport, it is very clean, very new, and cool, I hope that they will maintain it.

After getting all our bags, we went outside and a private van from the resort picked us up, the travel time was only 10 to 15 mins tops. We were also given bottled water upon riding the van, nice and very considerate of them.

Arriving on the resort, we were greeted by a low key entrance sign at the gate. Upon entering the resort, we saw a vast expanse of land area, green grass covered lawns, tennis court on the left side, clay and hard court.

We got off at the lobby were we needed to check in first and were given drinks again (nice touch). Check in was smooth and quick, thanks to the friendly and very helpful staff.

The family and I swam and went around the resort area. We walked from the resort to the "Dream Island" area, because it was low tide. Aqua shoes are recommended as I saw and caught a sea urchin. The soft sandy beach is excellent, water plants are all around the deeper area. Water plants means fish habitat, plenty of fishes swim around the water plants and plenty of coral areas as great habitats for fishes.

We went for breakfast the next day, to be honest, the food was good but not great, but the selection was few. Now, we were on a holiday compulsory package, we were to attend the Christmas eve dinner which was ok but they couldve at least make the dinner a little better than the usual. But it was OK.

One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the marine sanctuary, I was provided a guide by the resort and he accompanied me in my snorkeling and told me stories of fishes, showed me the giant clams, various species of corals and fishes. We fed the fish left over bread, which is great, so as not to waste food.

The kids enjoyed the different pools of varying sizes and depths. It was fun and salty, warm water, in some pools and cold in some. Breakfast was complimentary but lunch and dinner wasnt, it would be better if it was full board, but it is what it is.

Overall, the place is nice but the package could be better. Nice time for the family though, thats what counts.

Dear arjancheng, Thank you for a detailed review of Mithi Resort and Spa, beginning from the time that you arrived at the airport, your transfer to the resort, and your overall experience during your stay. We are grateful for the services that you appreciated, like the "bottled water upon riding the van," that you found "nice and considerate"; the welcome drinks upon arrival at the lobby; the "smooth and quick checkin thanks to the friendly and very helpful staff"; and the facilities and the amenities of the resort. Your suggestions regarding the breakfast selection, and the full-board package, will be taken up as part of our agenda to further improve our services. Again, thank you. We hope to welcome you back again soon. All the best,

This resort is all about peace and tranquility and the service is excellent all throughout. The private beach, albeit small in size, is amazingly powder white and crowd free. We thought we made a mistake in choosing this resort as it is quite far from the main beach but boy, we are so wrong. Mithi is in fact one of the best resorts we’ve ever stayed.

If Google were to allow 3.5 star reviews, this might have been one.

The hotel's setting is just magnificent. Full stop. This said, when you start looking at the details, the good impression start to crumble.

First of all, the images you see on Instagram or booking.com are very flattering, marketing so well done that it is borderline false advertising. The villa we rented was well-decorated and spacious but it was nowhere near the 150m2 the hotel advertises with. When we arrived, the door to the terrace didn't close and the jacuzzi was broken (a technician fixed the "bubbles" but it stayed cold and had two handfuls of loose tiles).

The WiFi at the hotel is very unreliable, almost never works in the common areas and broke down regularly in our villa.

There is a large TV in the room that has basically no reception. Not a single channel (zero!) is available in an acceptable quality, those that can be watched are grainy and have terrible sound.

The spa at the other end of the resort has an equally nice setting but it has seen better days (probably when George W. Bush was still president of the United States), everything looks pretty dated. The first thing I saw when I put my head through the massage table was a spider net (and the spider that goes with it). Also, there is no relaxing music during the massages because "we lost our iPad".

The tour we enquired about mere days before we arrived had become over 30% more expensive by the time we wanted to book it AND didn't contain dinner anymore (essentially making it 50% more expensive). An explanation was not given.

On the last day, we were first stuck on our balcony, locked out by house keeping, and then stuck inside the room because the door handle had broken. Until we left the next morning, we needed to call the front desk to have them open our now "prison cell door" every time we needed to leave the villa.

Know also that during the COVID pandemic, you can only use half of the amenities (but you will still pay full price). They don't tell you that when you make the reservation - just like they don't tell you about the construction work that is happening every day between 8 am and 5 pm.

On the plus side, the F&B team is super nice and does a great job (food is delicious, there should just be more vegetarian options) and the staff will go out of their way to make you feel good.

This, the fantastic view from the Seaview Villas and the pools by the ocean can still be worth a visit if you are looking for a break from busy Manila or stop over on Bohol while traveling through the Philippines. At this price, however, and with the problems described above, the hotel unfortunately clearly underdelivers.

The sea view in the room is really beautiful. You can enjoy the jacuzzi on the balcony in from of the room and watch the sea view is really comfortable.
But the Wi-Fi in the room is weak, and the TV in the room has almost no signal.
The hotel's electric water heater is inferior. When the water boils, the switch button will also burn your fingers.
I think Mithi resort has really great location for beautiful ocean view.
Unfortunately, hotel’s training needs to be improved!
The staff entered the guest's room but did not take off their shoes, and brought all the dust and sand from the outside into the room, making the room very dirty.
The room for three people only has supplies for two people and need to call twice, the room service is not very good.
Almost no staff smiles or greets politely. Can feeling staffs are not feel very happy working in the resort.

海景很漂亮但是服務不太好,房間網路幾乎沒有訊號電視不能看,電熱水壺品質不良會燙傷手指。員工訓練有待加強,進客房不會脫鞋,把沙和灰塵帶進房間,搞得房間很骯髒。

The resort itself was beautiful. They have a private beach and the pools were big and had a nice view. Rooms were comfy and spacious. But overall service can be improved, considering their rates are a bit higher compared to other resorts in Panglao.

Some things that can be improved:
1. Make sure rooms are ready upon check-in. We booked a total of 4 rooms. We arrived around 2:30pm and even ate first but one room was not ready by the time we finished eating which was 4:30pm.

2. Remind housekeeping to clean rooms. For the 4 days we stayed, we had to call several times to request for our rooms to be cleaned. Our rooms were cleaned at 6pm and sometimes they were not even cleaned at all.

3. Add more staff. It felt like the whole resort was understaffed. We had to call staff whenever we wanted to order at the bar and some thing we requested didn't even arrive.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay because of the facilities. We felt that the resort was not prepared for the influx of guests during Holy Week. Will not stay at this resort again since there are other better resorts with lower rates.

Highly recommended place for being quiet and it did not disappoint. The family wanted a quiet christmas break, away from the vacationing families with kids running around and the resort was one of the top places recommended.

The staff are accommodating and the resort area is very walkable and comes with a amenities like a lap pool, game room, gym, and a spa.

The spa choices were decent but could be better with packages lasting more than 2 hours.

The room was decent each with a terrace to sit and enjoy the beach air.

The resort has a man-made island which is a nice walk during low tides and can be reached by the resort's boat/paddleboard during the high tides.

Overall good experience and the resort just focuses on the demographic looking for peace and quiet.

The views from seaview villa were gorgeous, loved having a roomy balcony in which to wind down after a day of walking on the beach or relaxing by the gorgeous pool. The room was ample size, the bed super comfy with luxe linens, the bathroom had nice fixtures, plush towels and top of the line toiletries. We had breakfasts, lunch and dinner there and the menu for both had a great selection and the prices were fair. The staff and management team is gracious, responsive and hands-on in going all out to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of every guest. Will definitely go back!

We flew from Rizal to Bohol to experience the private beach. lt was a dismay that it was low tide. According to the Mithi staff, there would be water the following day, not sure though if it would be at 10 am to 12:00. We immediately requested for cancelation because our flight the next day is at 4pm. We were rejected despite our fervent request. Even a 50% refund was not granted despite the fact that we did not use the two rooms that we reserved. We had to talk to different people only to find out that all was futile. We left the place and were not accorded any consideration. To think that the room where we dropped our things was not that cozy it looked old and the door was squeaking. Until now we are waiting for their change of heart and will realize that they were not fair. There was no disclaimer in their ads about low tide. The third party, Agoda, said that they understand but it was the decision of Mithi that prevailed. Such a waste of time, money and effort. There was no warmth whatsoever. Thanks to the next hotel we booked in though it was already late. And it was not low tide in Alona.

We enjoyed our stay at Mithi and we were sorry to leave. But would not go back unless there were changes.
The site is large and accommodation is based on a series of concrete ‘nipa huts’ with tall thatched roofs. Really nicely done. Our room was huge and comfortable although the furniture could have done with some TLC.
The core facilities also used the nipa hut design and looked nice, at least during daylight. But this is where things unravelled. Reception is a very drab area. Furniture seems to be presented as antique. It actually looks dirty and shabby. At night, the lighting adds to the drabness. The water in the small outdoor pool was not clean and created a bad impression. But it was the restaurant that really dragged the place down. Again, poorly lit at night. The ceiling is bizarre, maybe intended to look like an upturned capiz shell lamp! Breakfast was a sparse buffet. Food from the menu was poor. And as the hotel is in the middle of nowhere you need a 15 minute car ride to find alternative food.
Staff were friendly and helpful.
A frustrating hotel. With significant investment it could be amazing. With modest investment it could be very good indeed. The irony is that the hotel management is spending money on room refurbishment and construction. If they spent that money on the core services first, they might need the extra accommodation. Shame.

I stayed at Mithi for 3 nights. The resort itself is very nice with a beautiful pool and beach. The rooms are clean and have great patios to enjoy the sunset on.
It is a very quiet hotel however so if you are looking for more action I recommend the other side of the island.
They only have one restaurant and it is not very good, we had dinner there each night and aside from the Filipino items I do not recommend eating there.

Dear Feel Good S, Thank you for your review. We are glad that you consider the "resort itself very nice with a beautiful pool and beach" and the "rooms clean (with) great patios to enjoy the sunset on." As much as we would like to cater to the diverse palates of our clientele, it is unfortunate that some dishes on the menu would not be agreeable to others. However, we are open to adjust our dishes according to the taste preference of our guest as long as our guest communicates this concern to our servers. All the best,
