We spent the night and day at Kingfisher, and thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful design and construction, the excellent use of local materials, tasteful decor, good food and pleasant staff. We would have stayed longer if we had had more time to spare. Breakfast, lunch and dinner overlooking the water was delightful! Highly recommend!

Accommodation in individual stilted bungalows. Really comfortable Eco-lodge with views over wetlands full of villagers and buffaloes. Great food. Exhausting short trek up the hill to see the abandoned temple but worth the effort. Splits the journey between Pakse and the islands into easy hops. We loved it.

I work in the travel industry and have stayed at just about every quality accommodation in Laos. I would have to say that Kingfisher Ecolodge is close to my favourite place to stay in Laos; gorgeous cabins (go for the Comfort Bungalows), a serene eating and relaxing area, and a truly divine setting, overlooking wetland plains and with the occasional... We spent 3 days in late February in one of the bungalows. We really enjoyed everything, the location, the peace and quiet, staff, meals, other guests. We went on a half day trek and really enjoyed it, also did an elephant ride through the rice fields. There is nothing like waking up in the morning to the sight of an... More

The bungalows are comfortable, each with its own balcony from where you can watch the water buffaloes passing by every day. It's a perfect secluded place for relaxing and enjoying nature for several days. The staff is very friendly and we really do recommend the half-day trecking tour with many information about evironmental surroundings and how people use the various... More

We spent two night in this little paradise, very quite place where is possible to rest after trekking or tour in Laos. Ecoroom is very comfortable, bath shared is clean, food is good and we had benefit from a delicious view and serenity. Thank for all Massimo and your staff.

We stayed there two nights before taking our plane from Pakse to Vientiane (the lodge is 1h30-2h away from the airport). We enjoyed the nature and the peace of this place ! The staff was very friendly, we did the one day elephant safari and our guide (one of the employee) was extremely nice ! The food is also good... More

Getting to Kingfisher Ecolodge can be a bit of a challenge, as the main highway is in very poor condition. However the road from the highway to the lodge is well maintained. This is a fair distance from any cities so there are no amenities other than those at the lodge. They do cater to you here quite well. The... More

The Kingfisher Ecolodge has almost as much quaintness as a Lord of the Rings story. It seems like an Edwardian era African jungle retreat only constructed (partly from bamboo) in southern Laos. One example would be the steps sometimes having different height spacings in the steep wooden stairs leading up to the bungalows. Another would be the geckos, which range... More

Be careful with all the fuss around this place ! First of all, we didn't get the "eco" part in "ecolodge". They are watering the garden all day long during the dry season. They are also putting the lights on way before the sun sets. Not very eco-friendly. This place is ok if you have a lot of money to... More

We are not going to comment on the rest, it really doesn't worth the time, but to say that our food prices are 3 to 4 time higher than the rest of the country (which rest of the country by the way?) is not only a blatant lie but also a very ignorant comment to do, most probably this person,...
