We booked afternoon tea here to scope the hotel out as our wedding venue, glad we did because it was far from great. We didn't feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Our scones were raw and so where the replacements, we didn't bother waiting for the 3rd attempt. None of the cakes were home made and the eclairs...

Thank you for taking the time to write into Trip Advisor. Your review is at odds with the many reviews that we have on both the hospitality and the food at The Grange so is one of concern. I will discuss your review with the General Manager as we pride ourselves on both the hospitality and the food that we...

Every couple wants their special day to go smoothly and the staff at Hackness Grange could have done no more in this respect. Around twenty of our party stayed the night before (I'm the Father of the Bride) and we were there early afternoon to set up the room with all the things we'd bought/hired. Lights were set up inside...

This Hotel is situated in Hackness , about 6 miles from Scarborough , & on the border of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park. The location of the hotel is in a quiet rural setting , the house having belonged to Lord Derwent before being sold on to become a hotel. We had a Groupon deal to redeem for a...

I would like to shout out to the staff at Hackness Grange for their amazing service. I had a reservation through a third party booking site for two nights in Feb despite the fact that the hotel wasn't taking reservations during Jan/Feb. However, the GM Joe and his team honoured my booking and could not have been more accommodating during...

Spent Valentines Day in this lovely retreat. Lovely open fire, intelligent 'pop' music and the staff were very attentive. The General Manager Joe and his assistant Lenny made you feel like a VIPs. The evening meal was excellent well presented and a variety of choices on the menu. The room (6) was comfortable with a lovely view overlooking the small...

We stayed here in October, and the price we paid was good value but this Hotel has the potential to be fabulous -although that would mean the price would increase. The setting is lovely and would be ideal as a Wedding venue but the whole building needs some updating. My room was in the main building, which is grand and elegant...

Just back from a family weekend with a party of 12 adults and children. Hotel had been closed for some refurbishment since New Year and this was first day open and we had the whole place to ourselves! Beautiful setting in a peaceful valley with lovely grounds. Check in was very quick and friendly and rooms were all in main...

We stayed here New Yars Eve for a wedding and had the end room in the courtyard. The carpet had not been cleaned, there was tea or coffee stains down the wall near the window, the room was small, it appeared the bathroom had recently been updated as there was plaster marks all over the door in the bedroom. There...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and note that your comment on the wedding you attended "was great'. Regarding the room 22, I can only apologise this did not meet your extractions. The hotel is carrying out refurbishments (throughout January), hence the skip being outside. Room 22 is being redecorated in January and the bathroom as...

Thank you for taking the time to write into TA about the difficulty you had with your booking. Unfortunately as was explained to you, this was outside the control of the hotel and was due to our booking system provider having a problem that resulted in the overbooking. The GM tried to accommodate a change which unfortunately you refused. I...
