Stayed at this good value hotel in 2018 when food was surprisingly good but bedrooms were below par. So, it was a delight to arrive in 30°C+ this year to find that all the bedrooms had been refurbished and fitted with a/c which worked very well. Prices have not gone up either. So, with good food, I am happy to award this place 4* on a VFM basis.

Used it as gite d'etape during GR10. Excellent central location with pharmacy, store and restaurants around. Checked-in quite late, but one of the rooms has not been cleaned after the previous guests. As a "sorry" received complimentary aperitif - it was nice! The room was very small, bathroom was all right but with hand-held shower... but if you're doing GR10 - it is all right :)

Decided to dine at the hotel restaurant (very nice terrace) and the food was excellent. Try to avoid the rooms facing the street as it was quite noisy - the church-bell went off EVERY HOUR!!!! and thew cars/motocycles were driving during the whole night.

Free wi-fi!

The June 2007 review mentioned the smell in the room - we had something similar, but just put up with it. The room was also very dark (dark green wallpaper, poor lights), could do with a refresh. We were at the back, nice, quiet view of garden, and hills. No shower curtain - those quirky French seem to like showering sitting-down?! Generally, though, I liked it - proper hotel dining room which was clean and bright, really excellent service in the restaurant and generally, and very good value French-cooking evening meals. Arles is sleepy, but good base for superb hill walking. The restaurant and service just drags it up to a 4 rating.

We stayed in Les Glycines whilst passing through Arles-sur-Tech in October 2005. It was getting late and it seemed to be the only hotel in town. We hope it has either been refurbished and/or is now under new management.

The first room we were shown probably hadn't been modernised since the 1960s but it was the overwhelming stench of stale tobacco smoke that put us off wanting to sleep in it.

The second room we were shown was similarly decorated and we left the windows open to ventilate the room while we went out to eat. Foolishly, we hadn't thought to try the bed because when we got back, it was too late to do anything about it. It was immediately obvious that the mattress was only a few inches thick and would have seen better days - perhaps when the springs didn't poke through. And after some hours of tossing and turning, noticed that somebody had attempted to improve things with a sheet of chip-board under the mattress. To make things worse, the town clock chimed every 15 minutes and then again 30 seconds later throughout the night.

In the morning we brought the condition of the bed to the attention of the manager. His apology didn't seem very sincere . He didn't offer a reduction and naturally we don't know if he did anything about the bed that didn't involve another piece of chip-board.

If you choose to stay here, check the room first.

I arrived at the hotel unannounced from trekking in the mountains on the GR10 route. The staff were friendly and really helpful, the hotel was clean and fresh with all the facilities required and the food was excellent.

This hotel went out of its way to make us feel truly welcome at a very difficult time for all people in the hotel trade. It was very much appreciated at the start of our walking holiday.
Dinne and breakfast were great, facilities good, it was a perfect start.

Wow what service we received. We were traversing the Pyrenees from the Atlantic to Mediterranean coasts and in great need of a spot of pampering. The management are very Grand Randonneur friendly. Our laundry was washed and handed back to us within two hours. We decided early evening to eat in the restaurant and the food was delicious.

To all those walking the GR routes get in there and try the place........you won't be disappointed, as the staff are superb.

Probably one of the worst hotel I've experienced. Only stayed here because of a wedding in a beautiful country house close by. On arrival there was no one at reception and after a wait of 10 minutes and walking around looking for someone we were finally checked in to a tiny, smelly, noisy and very hot bedroom with a very dated bathroom, handheld shower and no shower curtain. The decor looks as though it's from the 80's. We paid extra for breakfast daily but upon coming down at 9.15am we discovered it was finished??? To be fair the hotel did bring a sub standard croissant and coffee but hardly what I would expect for a paid breakfast! My only advice for visitors to Arles sur Tech is not to stay at this hotel.

Stayed for 3 nights out of season and very few guests. Owner couldn't have been more friendly and welcoming. Warm and comfortable room with TV/DVD and cleaned daily. Breakfast room bright and comfortable.
Arles is a hidden gem.
