My husband and I enjoyed a peaceful night at Theva watching the sun set and rise over the Kandy hills whilst indulging in the restaurant's simply glorious food. Fine dining in the heart of Sri Lanka - a dream come true! The staff were all lovely and gave impeccable service, making us feel very spoiled! The bed was super dreamy...

Lovely boutique hotel with friendly service. Fantastic views over Kandy. Lovely pool. Breakfast delightful, overlooking the views. Dinner a bit disappointing. Good laundry service. Would recommend this hotel.

Good location up on a hill overlooking Kandy. Very friendly staff, good service. Food very nicely presented and delicious. Well worth ordering Sri Lankan breakfast. Gorgeous sunsets and lots of birdlife around. The only problem was the hot water system in the bathroom, that did not work properly. The staff tried to fix it twice without permanent solution. We were...

Really nice place to stay and away from the hustle and bustle of Kandy. Wonderful views overlooking the whole area...a real haven. Easily reached by short ride in a Tuk Tuk from the station and easy trip into town.

The great feature of this hotel is its location high in the hills overlooking Kandy meaning the views are great and it's definitely cooler than the town. The restaurant terrace where we at a very tasty chicken onion masala for supper and breakfast the following morning was stunning. However we had a deluxe room with the same great view but...

This small boutique hotel is at the top of a long, winding road up a mountainside, with a commanding view of Kandy and surrounding scenery. You definitely need a car and driver to get to it. The hotel is quiet and so wonderful to return to after the madness of the city below. Our room was very spacious, with a...

This hotel fits the boutique expectations we had - small, intimate, very customer focused and excellent food! we got a room with a spa inside the room, in the window and even though the spa was a bit old, it was awesome to sit in it and look out to the mountains of Kandy (especially when we had a big...

The staff members, including Abey, Nuwan and Wasantha, are terrific, courteous and very kind - they work hard to take care of the guests. The hotel has a rather eclectic set-up, yet so unique and charming. One can sit on the patio outdoors and enjoy breakfast, while bird-watching. The verdant view really gets one off to a great start. Considering...

Theva is a boutique hotel that is although difficult to find up some windy paths is well worth the hassle when you get there! It's a stunning residence with a beautiful infinity pool overlooking the lush mountainsides. It's a tranquil retreat away from the busy kandy city centre. The staff are so welcoming and are happy to accommodate any requests...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A slice of Heaven… Nestled in the Hantana Hills Theva sits overlooking Kandy town. As you drive through the windy roads up the Hantana hills one can see the ethereal glistening of small city lights filling the night sky. An undoubtedly magical entrance to this boutique hotel. The food is divine and prepared with the utmost devotion and attention to detail. The Chef and his team have really been able to bring world-class food to this remote location. ... more   less
