After visiting many wonderful resorts (Ghili, Lamuu Six Senses, Joali and Soneva Fushi) we returned to Soneva Jani this year and reconfirmed that they are just The Best! The entire team is very professional, welcoming and shows an incredible attention to details. Our kind Barefoot Guardian Asma made our trip extra special and spoiled us with many wonderful little surprises. The dive team - Acho and Vincent and their entire boat crew make you feel safe and go the extra mile to find the perfect dive sights for you. We went diving every day and saw lots of wonderful fish and colorful corals. The food choices on the island are great and I think have even improved from last year. There is a new chef at Director's Cut - the food is next level now! And so many other choices....Overseas was excellent, the once a week Street Market is delicious, Crab Shack is wonderful.. Our over water villa was perfection with incredible privacy and a magical view of the lagoon. It is so extremely peaceful on this island. We will be back! …
I am not one to write a lot of reviews BUT I will make a very special exception this time around. I will keep it brief....THIS PLACE IS OUT OF THIS WORLD! that said I will provide a bit more details but will keep it succinct. traveled to Soneva w/ my wife on August 19th and stayed for 8 nights at Soneva Jani Chapter 2. We stayed at Water Reserve villa w/ water slide ( Villa #97). Our barefoot butler was Ashab and our Villa Attendant was Butcha. what an incredible team. they looked out after us in every sense of the word. anything and everything we needed / wanted they were there. So big KUDOS to them for such an incredible experience. Here our rankings ( from 1-10 ): locale - 10 service and accommodations - 10 culinary experience - 10 spa treatment area - 10 quality and bang for the buck - 10 ( now this place is NOT cheap BUT its worth the price if you are to book the newer Chapter 2 accommodations ) restaurants and choices - 10 weather - 7 ( august is a bit wet.. but we had 5 solid days of sun and others were mainly rainy ) sustainability focus - 10 ( the place is very focus on recycling and keeping healthy environment ) I could go on but in the end this is the BEST place we have ever stayed at and we are looking to come back in 2023... will look to stay at their first resort in Maldives which is the original Soneva Fushi. THIS IS A MUST and we FULLY recommended! Thank you to ALL of the Soneva Staff which made our stayed an incredible and unforgettable one.... cheers!…
We took 39 of our World Playground Members to Soneva Jani last week and it was the trip of a lifetime!! The resort is absolutely stunning, the villas are incredible, and the food and service are world class!! Our Members had the most amazing getaway, and it was a bucket list trip for sure! Soneva we will happily be back, and thank you for making our dreams come true last week!
Every part of this trip exceeded our expectations! We had seen photos of the resort online but there is no comparison to real life. Our villa was huge and gorgeous with every detail thought of. The pool was beautiful and we spent hours enjoying it. We loved the outdoor shower and all the aesthetics. our barefoot guardian Racha was really amazing. She had such a lovely and pleasant attitude and whatever we needed was taken care of immediately. She helped us plan our days and made all the bookings and reservations we wanted. She took great care of our baby as well! We are taking along memories and friendships for a lifetime. We can’t wait to come back and meet again. The food was all delicious and perfectly cooked. The chefs and all the staff were incredibly accommodating with our kosher needs.…
Our stay at Soneva Jani was incredible from the villas to the service and the food. The Den kids club needs to be seen to be believed. We did a dolphin cruise and were surrounded by about 250 dolphins it was a huge highlight.
Without a doubt this is the most amazing resort/hotel I have been able to experience. From the arrival via Seaplane (a nice upgrade from the usual launch from Soneva Fushi), to the arrival experience and meeting my wonderful Barefoot Butler Zeyba. From the start I appreciate the nice contrasts between Fushi and Jani - with Soneva Jani feeling more open in the interior, but still making for a fun bike ride around the island itself. Jani definitely feels longer, with the ride from the Water Reserve Side (South) to the Water Retreats taking around 15 minutes or so, but helped but the electric bike Zeyba had arranged for me. I'll start with the my 1 Bedroom Water Reserve. The Villa itself is stunning - with a private pool that you can more or less swim laps in, to the water slide I was so nicely told can be used no matter what the tide was doing, to even the well thought out dining area next to your private pool. upstairs next to the slide and myriad of day beds/lounges for relaxing outside and even a hammock/catamaran style netting to chill in. There's an outdoor shower and tub as well (in fact two outdoor showers), more than one way to get into our out of the pristine ocean below you. Inside - the wow factor continues with more dining and living space, from the two toilets, mini kitchen area with snacks, drinks (including some complimentary), to the ability to see to the ocean below with a handful of see through glass panels. The walk through changing areas/cupboard and storage spaces are spacious, all very well thought out. The dual sinks in the uber spacious bathroom area where you can walk in and out from the ocean and outdoor shower and tub combo is a lovely touch, and Soneva were kind enough to provide amenites on my request as well. The bedroom arguably was my favourite place- not to mention you could walk out to the pool easily, but the amazing and big party piece of the villa is the retractable roof. The roof I believe also has a cool feature whereby it won't open if rain is in the air as well. Onto the food - South Beach for Breakfast ( a nice leisurely walk or short bike ride each morning) was a pleasant affair - with a nice myriad of ala carte options complimented by a smaller buffet selection of pastries, fruits and more. Coffee is excellent as well here - and there is also an immense choice of teas. I did miss the Dosas from Soneva Fushi though. I did try and burger once via in villa dining - service all ordered via the app and delivered fresh within 20 minutes- perfect service! I had one dinner at The Gathering- a multi sensory experience for the tastebuds, but this night was Asian for me - whatever you do please try the papaya salad at the very least. Another night was at Diretors Cut- a Japanese Style restaurant. with a nice mix of Japanese offerings to delight the tastebuds, all while you taken a movie with your own personal headphones. The final night- started with a weekly cocktail party at North Beach watching the most beautiful sunset. They normally do a BBQ there post cocktails - but due to the weather they moved it to the Gathering with an extensive buffet with tastes from Maldivian, Sri Lankan and more - with table service available. A nice way to end my stay. I want to end to say a big thanks to Zeyba- my Barefoot Butler. She was incredibly kind, attentive and took good care of me during my stay. All the staff I met were warm and genuine. Soneva Fushi is a must visit experience.…
Absolutely loved our honeymoon at Soneva Jani, the staff was all incredible! While on our honeymoon at Soneva Jani, my husband and I had the best time learning how to play Tennis for the first time with Lucia! She was such a great coach and it made us want to continue to play tennis even after our honeymoon at Soneva was over. Lucia’s energy is contagious. She was uplifting, spirited and very talented. Highly suggest booking a Tennis Lesson with her while you are staying at Soneva Jani, you will love it! Thank you Lucia!
The experience was very good. The staff is super kind and welcoming. The water villa is very beautiful and the view is also good. The food was fantastic. We had wonderful experience at soneva jani. Hope to comeback again
A special adventure for the whole family regardless of age. Our kids loved the Den where they were able to chill or engage in educational or outdoor activities of their liking. Our allocated barefoot guardian (Shaan) looked after us throughout our stay and anticipated much of our needs to make it as memorable as possible. Highlights include off menu breakfast suggestions from staff and chefs. Alim and Chef Santhi, thank you for opening our taste buds to multiple countries around the world including local Maldivian food. The celebrity chef dinners were a unique opportunity to meet and find out more about their style and passion for cooking with local ingredients (Soneva's very own organic vegetable garden). If you love diving, head over to the dive centre. The diving instructor was very friendly and engaged well with my son (a teen) and myself for a very memorable experience. All staff provide their service with genuine consideration of our needs and to ensure we have a memorable experience. On one of the tours we learnt that 90% of the island's waste is recycled and they are continuously finding new ways to improve their environment sustainability practises. Well done. Thank you for a wonderful experience.…
My wife and I visited for a week-long vacation in the beautiful secluded resort. Based on what I have read and seen, the resort is partially independent of the mainland, serves delicious food all over the island, and has pristine long sandy beaches. We enjoyed scuba diving, snorkeling, paddle boarding, and different cuisines by visiting international chefs. We asked the chef's staff; they were Micheline Star chefs or trained by one for many years. It is on the higher end of costs relative to others, but you also get a unique experience with the international staff who always are friendly and happy to help or just chat. There is a medical staff on-site 24/7 and a hospital evacuation service if needed. We actually needed it because of my wife's cold. The doctor saw her the same day, and the next day we were escorted by staff to a hospital on a nearby island. If you are considering coming there with your family, it is a great place for creating new memories. There were many young families. Accommodations are stand-alone houses, and they are epic, with a slide that throws you straight to the ocean's waters, a wide deck with a pool to lounge, eat, and star-gaze at night. There is almost no light pollution, and you can star-gaze from many places at your house or across the island. One more thing, you can Google pictures of the island and property, it is precisely what you see. Hope this helps, cheers!…
