A countryside location away from the cities of Touraine. We stayed 2 nights at the Manoir de la Giraudière and very much enjoyed the friendly, helpful & welcoming service, very comfy, clean and charming rooms, but with all the modern comfort. And tasty breakfast. This perfectly restaured manor houses a great hotel surrounded by a beautiful garden and there is...

Last came here 20 + years ago and little seems to have changed. It still needs a makeover outside and needs plenty of TLC at the rear. We were lucky to have the 2 adjacent rooms with a private terrace again. Ideal for self catering. The dinner and breakfast in the restaurant was not overwhelming. Average food and service in...

Made very welcome despite having only a few words of French. Staff all tried to communicate with good humour. The receptionist even made chicken noises to try and translate the menu for us! Lovely restaurant but not open every night so had to eat in Chinon for three nights out of five - about 6 klm away and very good...

We stayed a week at La Giraudiere in July. We rented a car to get around. It is a wonderful manor house in a patch of woods, pool, walking trails, close to too many castles to name. We opted for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was fresh, fruit, bread, jam from a local convent and of course wonderful coffee. Dinner was...

A really good location if you are sightseeing or cycling around the Loire. The hotel has seen better days and is a bit odd architecturally. We booked a twin room and were put in a 'mini apartment' at the top of the building with a door frame from a time when people did not grow as tall as they do...

We thought the place was excellent.. more especially for the location - it was extremely good value for the money. The room was lovely. The restaurant - yes was local 'home' cooking. Served well. And at a very reasonable cost! The wines too.. of which there was an extensive range. Can't wait to go back!

The location is excellent, the hotel is surrounded by Cabernet franc vineyards and it's only 5 km from the village of Chinon, which is lovely and well worth a stay. I got a spacious room with a balcony and it was very clean and quiet, the staff helpful and courteous - overall an excellent value. The only thing I wouldn't...

We booked this hotel through the Logis de France web site and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the rooms. The food was good but unfortunately we stayed for 2 nights over a weekend when the oven had broken down so the choice of menus was limited. Overall the hotel was good value for money and situated in...

Avoid the suite, which we tried and turned out to be a bit of a misnomer and a poor deal. There are surely better hotels in that area for the same money. Breakfast is rather lousy too.
