A little hidden gem in Busot, near Campello, Alicante. Ten minutes to the coast. In the mountains in a charming, quiet village. Good for walking, cycling, relaxing etc. Close to Canalobre Caves.
The hotel has themed rooms named after the mountains and hills around. All have small balconies and are superbly fitted out. Comfortable and extremely clean. They are steamed cleaned and treated with ultra violet after each visit. There are options on different booking sites to include large continental breakfast of your choice or just decide on arrival. The owner Stefan could not be more helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. He is a very kind man. There is a rooftop terrace with views of the square, castle and surrounding hills. There is a barbecue there for use with prior notice. Stefan provided us with cutlery and plates. Drinks are available from the fridge. Fill in the form and pay at reception. Downstairs drinks, coffee and various cakes and pastries are available. Next to the bar are two restaurants, Ca Toni and La Casa. Also others in the village. Ate at La Casa and it was superb. Ca Toni looked good too.
This is a hotel not to be missed for a lovely indulgent break!!

We have stayed at this Hotel several times and we have never been disappointed. The location is great for relaxing or for visiting historical sites in the area.
The staff, including Stephan and his son cannot do enough for you, nothing is too much trouble. The beds and the pillows are of extremely high quality and so a good níghts sleep is never a problem. The air-conditioning in the rooms and the common areas is great, and so coming inside from the hot summer weather was a pleasure.
The precautions regarding COVID are all in place and we did not feel uncomfortable at any time.

The Hotel Sierra Alicante is a fabulous boutique hotel that is centre to the typical quaint Spanish village of Busot. The friendly staff give a warm welcome to uniquely decorated rooms all named after local mountain. The rooms have everything you need and are spotlessly clean. The breakfast was very plentiful and was taken by us sitting outside in the beautiful village square. There is a roof terrace with fantastic views which can be used to have a drink from the honesty bar whilst relaxing. This hotel shouldn’t be passed by if you are looking for a base in the area you won’t regret it.

This hotel offers 7 lovely rooms - comfortable, stylish, and offering all the facilities you might wish for. The rooms are located above a patisserie/café (same business) which serves a superb breakfast to their guests. There is no restaurant, but with two excellent restaurants located in the same square one is unnecessary.
Located in the mountains within half an hour of Alicante or it’s airport in a village, parts of which could be a film set, and very near to the Canelobre caves, this small hotel is a remarkable and very reasonably priced little gem.

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights in October 2019.
I cannot fault the service or the food (although breakfast was only marginally different / better than any large, chain hotel.
Stephan took issue with my original review and quoted a price for our room that was about 30% less than we were charged.
I’m happy to provide evidence of the nightly rate if required.
To be absolutely frank, to the point of being brutal, the only problem here was the owner.
He was far too intrusive, showed little to no understanding of our privacy and offered help to us to the point of treating us as idiots.
Why did we have to suffer the indignity of being shown how to use a magnetic card to open doors or utilise the lift? Did he think that we belonged in the 19th century?
I found the whole “introduction” to the glorified bed & breakfast to be condescending and intrusive.
We also did not need to have Stefan explain to us how to select our breakfast choices or how we should go about our day. Fine if asked. Otherwise an intrusion.
I don’t mean to be severe in my comments here. Our “suite” was a very ordinary room. I doubt that it was 25m2.
It was not possible to come back for an after dinner drink as the bar closed at 9pm
Overall, I would not say to avoid this place but I would say not to expect too much.

Dear Roisín,dear Ciaran, why-after exactly one year after your visit - you seam to have changed completely your mind?! Here is the ORIGINAL 5 star valuation you published on the 19th November 2019 after your visit then! Which substance changed your mind from then to now? Why do you intend to damage our high reputation now? Here is your text from then (evedrybody can look at the original from 19th of November 2019!!!) "Stayed here recently for 5 nights. It was a pleasant experience. Our suite was rather more compact than we had expected but was nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. Breakfast each morning was quite good with freshly baked breads and pastries on offer. Other than those, it was very much usual fare. No hot food offered at breakfast at all. Coffee was super. A very wide variety of teas and coffees available. A little disappointed that fresh pineapple was replaced by canned product on the third day of our stay. Fruit salad at breakfast was always from a can. Stephan, our host was very obliging and helpful. 5 nights was too long to stay - not because of the hotel per se but because there is nothing into the town itself. The only bar is about 25 minutes walk from the hotel. The one time we set out to walk there, Stephan kindly followed us in his car and gave a lift. That was very kind of him. The two restaurants immediately adjacent to the hotel were very good for dinner. Stephan and his staff were very good. He, particularly, was helpful to a fault. I should say, the roof terrace was lovely and has great views. It’s well set out and equipped - including warm blankets for chilly November eveni Again, the hotel was fine but Busot is somewhere to pass through or just stay for a night. Has little substantive to offer as a base." HERE IS OUR ANSWER FROM THEN: "Dear Roisín,dear Ciaran, many thanks for taking the time to evaluate the Boutique Hotel Sierra de Alicante following your stay in our special romantic Suite Sierra Aitana-decorated especially for you, dear Roisín. We are delighted you enjoyed your short time in the village of Busot/Alicante together with the special atmosphere of this top Boutique Hotel - just 20 minutes away from the center of Alicante yet so very different - and are grateful for the kind recommendation.Of course you were able -during daytime-to enjoy the various tipical spanish bars close to here-but indeed the special "night bar" El Raco is some minutes away.If someone looks for night-life indeed should better reserve in places like Benidorm - but for everybody else really interested in spanish life, culture and a vast program related to nature...then this is the place...with fresh air and still so very close (6 minutes) from the coast. It`s nice to hear that you liked the facilities offered in your room and in the comon areas of the hotel as well as the personal touch we put into this project. We appreciate your comments regarding breakfast .Of course this is offered as a "continental breakfast" and we are very proud to be able to offer a nearly 5-star equipped suite plus breakfast for only 40€/person/night - every piece more would have the consequence of getting that price up.It was a pleasure to meet you and we hope that you got home safely and relaxed. We very much hope to see you again one day - offering you our vast amount of special hikintg maps etc etc!Best regards from beautiful Busot/Alicante at the center of the Costa Blanca. Your Sierra de Alicante Team" So the reader should decide - while looking at other valuations - what substance changed mind here!Greetings Stephan (owner Boutique Hotel)

This was my second stay in the wonderful Hotel Sierra de Alicante (and definitely not my last!!). This is a beautiful and very unique place, the rooms are decorated with a lot of love for detail, with everything you need, spotlessly clean. The mattresses are comfortable, and the roof terrace is the ideal place to relax. The owners are wonderful and caring people, they give advice and a helping hand, the breakfast is delicious and very varied, and it just feels like home. I highly recommend this hotel, and I also want to make a point that as a female solo traveller you will feel entirely safe, welcome and looked after.

From the moment we arrived till the moment we left, Stephan, the owner, could not have been more helpful and inviting. The hotel was beautiful and intimate and the atmosphere was very relaxed.
We would highly recommend staying there. If you are visiting the local caves you must drop into the hotel foyer to sample the coffee and cakes. Well worth a visit and we will be back again to stay.

Dear Guests, thank you for these nice comments. A Boutique Hotel of our class really depends upon comments like that because like in a good Boutique, service is everything. Hope to see you back soon - at least for "the best coffee in the world" as you seem to have settled permanently quite close to us! You will receive no warmer welcome anywhere in Spain than at this boutique hotel that is light years away from the hustle and bustle of Alicante or Benidorm. It is worth a visit just for the spectacular view from the roof terrace where you can take the breakfast that is delivered on a trolley to your room. There is an excellent restaurant a few steps away. We only stayed for one night to have a change from the big hotel in Port Denia where we holidaying with an elderly parent, and it was a great experience.

My wife and I stayed here 2 weeks ago for 2 nights, we really enjoyed it. Nice small boutique hotel, great location in the square of a small village. Very friendly and helpful staff, lovely room, very comfortable bed, huge shower. Checkout the veranda on the top for breakfast (which is excellent, all cooked fresh) or a beer as the sun goes down. Great base to explore the mountains and caves. Different and huge attention to detail. Great value too.
