Our family of 4 adults stayed at Christmas in the Doontroon Croft room with wood-burning fireplace and jacuzzi hot tub. A beautiful room with views in 2 directions. Quiet. Nice lounge with kitchen just outside our door. Also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub just steps away. Hot breakfast was delicious and hosts/service all very friendly. So nice to stay somewhere so original and authentic.
The Pretty River Valley Country Inn is a tranquil getaway to relax & unwind. Our family arrived for a 2-night stay in July 2021 and were greeted by friendly hosts at this serene property. Our room was in The Croft and was spacious for the 4 of us. It also came with an open concept jacuzzi in the middle of the suite. Another unexpected bonus was finding the common area full of books about farm life / Canadiana. I can only imagine all the interesting conversations that took place here among other guests, before the pandemic. I believe the property size is well over a hundred acres, but a good cup of coffee was usually just a few feet away. The wife and kids enjoyed all the farm animals on the property, especially reindeer. With Collingwood less than 20 minutes away, we spent those long summer days at local beaches and patios. All in all, a very nice local gem.…
This Country Inn was lovely. Clean, cozy and adorable! My boyfriend and I were here for one night and had a great stay. We felt so welcomed as soon as we pulled up. Upon arrival, our friendly host showed us the trails available on the property (and gave us a map) and asked us what time we would prefer for breakfast. She then brought us to our room. First impression of the room was really nice. It was clean and smelt great and it was just really cute. There was also a couple of oatmeal cookies by our room key on the TV stand. We really appreciated the wood burning fireplace in the room and had a comfortable sleep on their memory foam mattress. Breakfast was the best part for me. The omelette was delicious and I liked the coffee (and I'm a picky Torontonian). Something I also appreciated was how quiet it was. It was very peaceful. The host was very pleasant and soft spoken and so were the other quests in the little dining area. Pretty River Valley Country Inn is so homey and quaint and I'm so glad we stayed here. I will definitely go back! Especially when the hot tub is open (sadly, it was not available, due to Covid safety rules).…
Love this place! Me and my Husband have been coming here for about 6 years for our anniversary. I recently decided I’d bring my daughter up with me so we could have some quiet time, chill out and so she could check it out. She loved it and she loved the horses! I’m actually coming back next week for my Birthday! We met with Paul who checked us in, he explained and followed all covid protocols. Rooms were clean as always. Everything was in working order in the main area and our room. The hot tubs were not operating, as expected due to covid. The breakfast is always so fresh & delicious! There is always well stocked tea, cookies and condiments in the lobby. In our room we had firewood, popcorn, pop and water. The Skye Suite is super cute and romantic!!! This place is amazing if you’re looking for a romantic getaway or just looking to spend some time away alone. One day when I get the chance to I would like to check into the Rob Roy Croft, Ben Nevis Croft or the Duntroom Croft, as it’s pretty much the only part of this magical place!!! Go here, you’ll love it! …
Stayed at Pretty River Inn October 2020. The Inns grounds are extremely unique and very picturesque! I was, however, disappointed during my stay for several reasons. While we are all aware we are in a pandemic, the owner and his wife greeted us wearing a mask they must have reused too often as they were brown on the outside! My worry was magnified by the common areas throughout the Inn. The dishwasher in the Croft rooms common area was full of dirty dishes as the dishwasher was not in working order. This meant I had to handwash porcelain mugs for my coffee each morning. During a pandemic this is unsanitary. The Inn's whirlpools are not in use (the owner claimed this was due to the pandemic, although public health has given the go ahead to reopen whirlpools so long as a cleaning protocol is in place). My room itself was beautiful. The Duntroon has a stunning wood burning fireplace and an exemplary comfortable bed, but the Duntroon room was advertised as having a 2 person whirlpool tub but the owners knowingly rented out this room with the whirlpool tub NOT in working order. This is simply false advertising and misleading. At the very least the Inns rooms should be discounted to reflect what isn't working. The breakfast supplied was very good with plenty to choose from and was by far, the best thing about the inn. I hope they resolve these issues soon in order to preserve their future! …

The property and the valley is absolutely gorgeous; and this was in December! The fireplace was the reason we picked this Inn and we weren't disappointed. The Rob Roy Croft was quiet and cozy and we just swung the sofa around a bit and cozied straight up to the fire. The breakfast was perfect with good fresh fruit but I marked down one star for no evening meal available on-site. Worth the drive.
A few friends of mine and I spent the night there and my only regret is not staying longer. This place is like a piece of heaven. The magical combination of Mother Nature's beauty and all it's gifts, warm and loving people with excellent service, all the amenities you could want, beautiful grounds and views and then to awaken to a super yummy homemade breakfast, far beyond the usual. And then, of course, the easy access to some of the greatest mountain biking, beaches, hiking, restaurants and great towns of Collingwood and Thornbury. What a gem! And what a pleasure to have access to a place like this. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will be back for more and I highly recommend others gift themselves for a few nights, at least.
My girlfriends and I enjoyed a two night stay at PRI. The room with the loft was so cozy and we loved the balcony too. We were all impressed by the breakfast they served us. We arrived to a nice continental breakfast, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurts and hot coffee. Then the ladies brought us out crispy bacon and omelettes and warm baked goods! All homemade I might add. After we digested, we made plans to go to the spa which was included in our stay. We had gorgeous weather for it and enjoyed the hot and cold pools. We took Alyssa's recommendation and ate at a local brewery (thumbs up by all). We really enjoyed the animals we saw at the farm. When we had a bon fire on our last night, then horses came racing down the path near us. So amazing! All four of us really enjoyed our stay. Service by Alyssa and Amy was top notch, and they were very helpful. I would give a perfect score, but the pool was a bit of a let down. Freezing cold (understandably ) but the area around seemed neglected. Could use some attention. Otherwise everything was great!…
This is a nice inn serving a great breakfast. Rooms are nice and the fireplace is a wonderful. The staff were very helpful. Lots to see and do in Colingwood. Only negative: the grounds keeping good be a bit better, some pruning and cutting back required.
