This Country Inn was lovely. Clean, cozy and adorable! My boyfriend and I were here for one night and had a great stay. We felt so welcomed as soon as we pulled up. Upon arrival, our friendly host showed us the trails available on the property (and gave us a map) and asked us what time we would prefer for breakfast. She then brought us to our room. First impression of the room was really nice. It was clean and smelt great and it was just really cute. There was also a couple of oatmeal cookies by our room key on the TV stand.

We really appreciated the wood burning fireplace in the room and had a comfortable sleep on their memory foam mattress. Breakfast was the best part for me. The omelette was delicious and I liked the coffee (and I'm a picky Torontonian). Something I also appreciated was how quiet it was. It was very peaceful. The host was very pleasant and soft spoken and so were the other quests in the little dining area. Pretty River Valley Country Inn is so homey and quaint and I'm so glad we stayed here. I will definitely go back! Especially when the hot tub is open (sadly, it was not available, due to Covid safety rules).

Unique, comfortable, amazing views no matter the season.
Have been multiple times at different times of the year
The best place to relax and unplug. Rooms have fireplaces, great beds, in room jacuzzis, some have amazing loft beds for kids. Ultra quiet.
Heated outdoor pool, and outdoor jacuzzi. 2 Ponds, hiking trails on property up the escarpment. Provincial park for extensive hiking nearby. Terrific hot breakfasts, the hosts absolutely try their very best to make your stay comfortable.
You need a car to get to it and wonderful Collingwood is a short drive away for terrific lunches and dinners. Horses and Reindeer !

The Pretty River Valley Country Inn is a tranquil getaway to relax & unwind. Our family arrived for a 2-night stay in July 2021 and were greeted by friendly hosts at this serene property. Our room was in The Croft and was spacious for the 4 of us. It also came with an open concept jacuzzi in the middle of the suite. Another unexpected bonus was finding the common area full of books about farm life / Canadiana. I can only imagine all the interesting conversations that took place here among other guests, before the pandemic. I believe the property size is well over a hundred acres, but a good cup of coffee was usually just a few feet away. The wife and kids enjoyed all the farm animals on the property, especially reindeer. With Collingwood less than 20 minutes away, we spent those long summer days at local beaches and patios. All in all, a very nice local gem.

Stayed at Pretty River Inn October 2020.  The Inns grounds are extremely unique and very picturesque!
I was, however, disappointed during my stay for several reasons. While we are all aware we are in a pandemic,  the owner and his wife greeted us wearing a mask they must have reused too often as they were brown on the outside! My worry was magnified by the common areas throughout the Inn. The dishwasher in the Croft rooms common area was full of dirty dishes as the dishwasher was not in working order. This meant I had to handwash porcelain mugs for my coffee each morning. During a pandemic this is unsanitary. The Inn's whirlpools are not in use (the owner claimed this was due to the pandemic, although public health has given the go ahead to reopen whirlpools so long as a cleaning protocol is in place).
My room itself was beautiful. The Duntroon has a stunning wood burning fireplace and an exemplary comfortable bed, but the Duntroon room was advertised as having a 2 person whirlpool tub but the owners knowingly rented out this room with the whirlpool tub NOT in working order. This is simply false advertising and misleading.  At the very least the Inns rooms should be discounted to reflect what isn't working.

The breakfast supplied was very good with plenty to choose from and was by far, the best thing about the inn.

I hope they resolve these issues soon in order to preserve their future!

Thank you for the two reviews you and your girlfriend posted. I am responding to "Resolving issues in order to preserve their Future" comment your final line in your review. The common room does have a dishwasher that services the three Crofts. There are enough dishes that our guests can either leave dirty dishes in the sink or dishwasher and help themselves to clean ones. I would not advise guest to wash dishes by hand as the water is not hot enough to sanitize. Staff run the dishwasher and it is in working order. I did not wear a mask but plastic face shield in your presence, but yes Paul's might well have been stained when you saw him as he just came back from rescuing a "run a way" horse and I suspect he did not presence of mind to remove it before going on his Disney Adventure. Let me reiterate what you would have been told when booking. The outdoor and indoor hot tubs are closed We work with the health department from Owen Sound and we will re-open them safely on the advice of our inspector. The gym is closed. The five Jacuzzis in the Suites and Crofts are working. I do apologise as the jets were not working in the Duntroon but the bubbler would have ensure a lovely therapeutic experience. The plumber has since fixed the jets. We are happy you enjoyed your breakfast. Our pork products, gluten free, cranberry and maples syrup sausages and smoked bacon are always appreciated by our carnivore guests. Thank you for the positive comments regarding the Crofts. Much thought went into designing the guest space and we are always appreciative when guests enjoy their experience.

Our family of 4 adults stayed at Christmas in the Doontroon Croft room with wood-burning fireplace and jacuzzi hot tub. A beautiful room with views in 2 directions. Quiet. Nice lounge with kitchen just outside our door. Also enjoyed the outdoor hot tub just steps away. Hot breakfast was delicious and hosts/service all very friendly. So nice to stay somewhere so original and authentic.

Love this place!
Me and my Husband have been coming here for about 6 years for our anniversary.
I recently decided I’d bring my daughter up with me so we could have some quiet time, chill out and so she could check it out. She loved it and she loved the horses!
I’m actually coming back next week for my Birthday!
We met with Paul who checked us in, he explained and followed all covid protocols. Rooms were clean as always.
Everything was in working order in the main area and our room.
The hot tubs were not operating, as expected due to covid.
The breakfast is always so fresh & delicious!
There is always well stocked tea, cookies and condiments in the lobby.
In our room we had firewood, popcorn, pop and water.
The Skye Suite is super cute and romantic!!!
This place is amazing if you’re looking for a romantic getaway or just looking to spend some time away alone.
One day when I get the chance to I would like to check into the Rob Roy Croft, Ben Nevis Croft or the Duntroom Croft, as it’s pretty much the only part of this magical place!!!
Go here, you’ll love it!

This place is truly amazing! The rooms are comfortable to incredible (especially the Crofts with a fireplace and a jacuzzi in the room!). Quiet with incredible views of the secluded valley- no other houses in sight and no noise. Wonderful outdoor HEATED pool under some lovely trees- quite unique. Outdoor hot tub, farm animals to see if you want. Very good choice of restaurants a short drive away. Terrific buffet breakfasts. These owners and staff really care for you to have the best stay possible. My family and I have been a number of times and it's consistently a 5 out of 5. No need to look for any other place. You wont be disappointed.

What a beautiful little inn! The weather was cool and rainy most of our stay but the croft was warm and cozy! Nice walking trails and adorable animals to greet you. A beautiful drive through the provincial park into Collingwood and the Scandinavian Spa. Breakfast was amazing! Would highly recommend!

My husband and I have stayed at many Inns and B&Bs all over the world, some more rustic than others, and am using that as my point of reference.

We booked the one night with Scandinave Spa access package. When we arrived at the inn in the morning to pick up our spa passes and spa kit (robes and water) we were greeted very warmly and sent on our way to go and enjoy the spa for the day (the spa was amazing!). The fact that the inn provides robes and water for the spa was a nice touch and much appreciated. When we came back that afternoon to check in, all was handled very efficiently. We stayed in the Highland Suite. The room was a little disappointing especially for the price. There were a couple of nice pieces in the room (i.e. the cannonball bed) but the rest was more "old kitschy cottage with cast off furniture" than "quaint country inn". For example, the old worn out velour love seat was very tired and not very comfortable and the mismatch of lamps from the 60s and 70s not very aesthetically pleasing. The carpet was frayed and had a big pull to trip over as well. Also, it was disappointing to find that several of the jets in the tub didn't work and that one of the wine glasses had a big chip out of the rim so we couldn't use it. The positive was that the room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and we did enjoy having a wood burning fireplace. We also enjoyed seeing the reindeer. The breakfast room felt a little more "quaint country inn" than did the rest, and we were greeted very warmly upon our arrival for breakfast. I know others have raved about the breakfast - we found it just OK but maybe we hit an off day. It didn't help that I don't like salmon and the hot breakfast that morning was scrambled eggs with salmon mixed right in (luck of the draw I guess). All in all, the owners/staff were very hospitable and friendly but the room itself was not great. For us, it is not a place we would want to stay for more than the one night especially for the price, but everyone has different taste and depending what you are looking for, you may like it just fine.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Inn. We are happy to provide additional firewood. It is necessary to use well seasoned firewood or there can be smoke outs which can ruin a romantic getaway. We age our wood an extra year prior to using. regards Paul
