A very warm welcome to the Guesthouse at Ballylagan Farm. The house in which you will be staying was originally built as a single storey farmhouse in the early years of the 19th century. In the later 1800s as the farm prospered the house was extended both horizontally and vertically and was finally completely restored and refurbished in 2011. We are pleased to have retained all the character of this charming building, while at the same time offering a degree of comfort and serenity which we believe is second to none. We look forward to seeing you.
This is not a review of the guest accommodation (as I’ve never stayed) but a review of the shop. I’ve been going every week for quite a few years now and should have said these things before now. 1/ Nothing is overpriced. Meat and veg that come from the farm itself are of exceptional quality and they could get more money for it - but they don’t. 2/ Ballylagan bacon and Coppa are the best you will find anywhere in the world. 3/ I regularly make my own bread with organic flour but still can’t beat Ballylagan sourdough 4/ Ballylagan rib-eye steaks are of a quality that you will never find anywhere else. (All their beef is, but rib-eyes are special. I can’t eat supermarket meat any more because once I got used to organically raised, grass-fed, the rest just tastes grainy.) 5/ The staff are great! The most knowledgable about food and the helpful that you’ll ever find. …

Wonderful gem of a place to stay. Met by the friendly Patrica who gave me a warm welcome and had kindly made sure I had supply’s to make a welcome cuppa with a biscuit. The apartment had everything I could of needed and proved to be the perfect base while visiting family in the area. Location is perfect for exploring NI. I managed to make a day in Belfast, Derry and the beautiful north coastline.

Excellent stay. Beautifully clean, tastefully furnished, very quiet except for the crows(!) just a beautiful place to unwind. Could have done with some opaque film on the bottom of the bathroom window, although not really overlooked, Shame they don’t offer a cooked breakfast, but apart from that, it’s perfection!

Staying at Ballylagan gives you the best of both worlds! You can enjoy the pleasant Antrim countryside and also enjoy vibrant Belfast. Only 25 mins by bus from Ballynure to the City Centre. Patricia and Tom are very hospitable hosts and provided plenty of useful information. I arrived by public transport and they were happy to drive me to local train station (Mossley West - trains from there to North coast and Derry) and to local bus stop (Ballynure - bus to Europa bus station in Belfast centre) The room was very comfortable

My husband and I absolutely adored this place. We arrived in late evening, and the sunlight and shadows in the gorgeous "Secret Garden" lent the most heavenly aura to the whole place... Perfect for pictures. Our room was lovely and spotless. The host was gracious and kind, and even opened her organic store next door so we could buy berries for breakfast. We would have loved to have stayed longer, and taken a horse ride through the nearby farmlands. We dearly hope to return one day. We were utterly charmed.

We stayed at a very nice room upstairs on the 1st floor with a view of the garden. Room and bathroom were spacious and spotless clean. It was a very quiet and nice place to stay. Thanks Patricia for your hospitality.

I stayed here with my 11 year old son. It was very pleasant. Our room looked over the garden which was beautiful and lovely to sit in. Our bedroom was spotless and spacious. Plenty of tea and coffee and fresh milk was delivered to our room. There is a tea room and a farm shop. I highly recommend going on a horse ride which you can book on site. Friendly hosts and very helpful with local attractions.

I loved my stay here at the farm.My room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable bed and plenty of space.I felt really relaxed throughout my whole stay and slept the best I have ever slept!! There are some lovely walks nearby. Friendly host,I was delivered fresh milk everyday and some delicious biscuits which was a lovely touch. I only had breakfast once, which was a continental breakfast,I really enjoyed it especially the muffins! I look forward to coming back in the near future

Myself and my partner travelled from Dublin and had a lovely one night stay in this cute farm house. The staff were very friendly and the room was 5 star! We will definitely be returning. The rooms are big and spacious and there are two lovely short walks around the land.

Called in on a wet and windy morning looking for breakfast and we were delighted with the warm and cosy ambience of the Ballylagan tea room. The pancake special with poached pears was delicious and the vegetarian breakfast included the best poached eggs ever. We will definitely be back!
