We typically prefer an Adults Only resort but Dreams is a great option when we are taking our daughter along. She spent about 50% of her time in the Kids Club and loved it. Food and drinks were good and the service was excellent!
We just returned from Dreams and had a great time while still dealing with COVID-19. We stayed in building 6, Preferred Club. We read on here a bunch of times that PC was not worth the upgrade. I absolutely disagree. The private bar and food alone in there is worth it. Carla the PC concierge was awesome! We also took 2 days trips, 10a-4p to Isla Mujeres. We found Richie by the pool with Aqua World who set up our transportation to Isla. We then used Isla Driver Robby to setup a tour of the island on a golf cart. If you can sneak in a trip over to IM, do it! Food was great as usual, as this was our second trip here to Dreams. Only some of the restaurants are open everyday. Just plan your day every morning by asking concierge what the options will be for the night. Special thanks to Gustavo, Jaime L, both are pool concierge. Karen, Mercedes, Franciso, Alex were great servers at the pool. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message, …
I was here with my girlfriend from Feb 9-12th, and I will just say we had an amazing trip. I have been to Cancun every year for the last 12 years and this is in my top 2. We did not pay for preferred and we loved our room and it did not make any difference to our stay at all. If you are in any way worried about COVID 19, please don’t be, Dreams goes above and beyond to ensure everyone is safe, they put the U.S. to shame regarding cleanliness and following protocols. Taking the Covid test at the resort was easy and professional. The staff was amazing, I am talking from reception, gardeners, pool staff, event staff, waiters, bartenders, all top notch. Everyone (whether they speak English or not) say hello and if you need any help they will do their best to help. The food was above par and plenty of variety. The lobby bar at night time had great drinks and had fantastic entertainment with some amazing talent both on piano and singing. We came with no children so when we needed some adult time or wanted to have more adult entertainment (drinking and shots) we just took the 3 min walk to secrets. I have never stayed at a place twice due to me enjoying other places, but I will be back here next year with my family which includes a couple kids. Overall, this place is truly a joy, the staff is great, the rooms and pools are amazing and the cleanliness is second to none. Thank you dreams for an amazing much needed vacation. Paul and Ariel PS. See you soon!…
After extensive research, we decided on Dreams Playa Mujeres with our four children ages 8-12 and their caregiver, making us a total of 7 all together. We normally stay at the adults only resort of a different brand further up on Playa Mujeres, but we chose this resort for the kids because of all the amenities it offered children and the different pools, especially that they offer heated ones in Winter. We already love the beach at Playa Mujeres so knew we wouldn't be disappointed, we love Playa Mujeres in Mexico. We are frequent travelers to this area so I was nervous about trying out a new brand, but it all was absolutely incredible. The food was great, definitely above average for an all-inclusive and enough variety for the whole family even during Covid time and rotating restaurants, we found the Mexican food offered there to be above par for other resorts we stayed at in Cancun, we ate endless amounts of Chips, Pico and Guacamole and it was all so delicious. Also, the room service that delivered our breakfast every morning was super delicious, we are all still talking about the French toast. We stayed at the preferred club two bedroom villa by the lazy river and loved our room that fit all 7 of us comfortably. We liked having the private jacuzzi at night to come and relax in and felt like we had the lazy river to ourselves. The preferred club was definitely worth it for the club bar/room where we could grab snacks and get top shelf liquor. The bartenders there Julian/Rene were incredible and did a fantastic job keeping the adults and kids happy with their drink orders. Also, kudos to the activities coordinators Carlos and Fernanda who ran the activities at the main pool and the beach. They were so engaging and friendly and my kids are still talking about them and hope they will be there when we came back. We were very impressed with the Covid protocols and we scheduled the return Covid test easily with the concierge for the day before we needed to return home and it took 15 minutes of our morning and was seamless. All of us tested negative and we were so grateful they are doing the test on-site. If you are on the fence about booking Dreams with your family, rest assured it is completely safe and it was well deserved break for our kids that had a rough year. We all agreed we will be returning to this resort yearly as our family vacay. Thank you to Dreams and all the amazing staff that made this our family's favorite trip to date!…
I want to start off this review saying it was my first resort ever, so I didn’t know exactly what to expect. Also my first time in Mexico. When we got there on a Monday it was very nice, the view is incredible. We were upgraded to preferred and I can’t say that if I had to pay a ton extra I may not. But we enjoyed it especially being able to have breakfast that wasn’t buffet. Our hotel view was amazing. We did pay for an ocean view. I read a lot on here that if you tip you get better service. I didn’t think that was the case at all. We had to get up just about every time to get our drinks. Which was fine and we weren’t lushes. Lol. But for tipping in addition to what we paid I probably will not tip again at an all inclusive. The beach was very nice, we walked the beach down past different resorts and you could tell right away which resort was nicer. The pool areas and views were also amazing. The food was....meh. I was not super impressed. The best food we had was at secrets. The Mexican place and Oceania. All the rest was kinda okay. Also even tho they have filtered water I would still do bottled as much as possible. We both had tummy issues 3rd day in. We did go golfing it’s not REALLY free at all. We paid about $335 for two of us to golf and rent clubs. Again our first time doing something like that. We will bring our clubs next time. But the experience was great, it was amazingly beautiful. About 3 days in, it went downhill. Service was not good, we had housekeeping and turndown service and the turndown service stopped. Then the housekeeping was pretty bad at the end. Each day we left a REALLY nice tip and left a little note for extra waters and coffee, beer that we’d like. Well they took the money and stopped refilling our fridge 🤨 we would call down and ask for cold bottled water because we were out and 4 hours later still no water. We also ordered room service our last night and it took over 2 hours to get when we were told 50 mins. These were just a few things that left a bad taste in our mouth. The last day we did get a couples massage and that was well worth it. They did a great job. We never did get our free bottle of tequila, rum or vodka. (Choose one) even after asking for it. Over all the view, the pool, the beach all very nice. Service for me knowing it’s all inclusive and it should be above par was below par for me. One last thing (sorry I know this is long but wanted to give all my thoughts) If they ask you to do a sales pitch, don’t do it. 🤣🤣 they said it would be no more than 90 minutes and it was OVER 3 hours. AND at the end they told us they were going to have someone come over and do a survey with us and it wasn’t. She was a bully. Told us that we should be able to afford the monthly payment bcz we lived in America. I stood up and told her we were done. Incredibly rude!! If you want to do that then go for it, lol. But to me it wasn’t worth it at all. …
